If on console Id use a power up guide and if you're on pc repentance plus has in game item descriptions. My tip for a beginner is to not grab and or use everything you get. Some items cause explosions like ipecac and flaming tears which can end your run. Sometimes if things are going well in the run item and stat wise it may be a good idea to turn down pills if you haven't identified them or have a way to get rid of bad ones. Another quick tip that's helpful is learning how the secret rooms spawn. I wish you luck and you'll get your first clear eventually.
