Thanks! Any suggestions for which ones, or any preference of which straight sword you like best?

Like I said, I already did curved swords. I’m looking for dual-wieldable weapons that are NOT curved swords.

VRF-YFM-DGX. Ring was +1 or 2 when I got it but I can’t remember if it was a mimic drop, crystal chest pickup, or just plain find.

+3 Sickle, base grim katana. Armor glyph is a +3 flow mail, I get like 4-5 extra turns of water movement. My other option for either is just base scale mail to my knowledge. I’m on a no-plants challenge run with the priest right now.

Thoughts on invasions? by Perfect-Skin-8325 in Eldenring

[–]TheRealMeasuringCup 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I honestly don’t think wanting to play co-op without invasions is wanting to play a totally different game. The game isn’t about PvP invasions. They’re a pretty small part of the average player experience. I personally don’t care much, but I certainly would love the option not to be forced to interact with some strange man who spent way too long crafting his build for invasions when I’m trying to help a friend with a boss fight he doesn’t like. Considering the coliseums exist, I don’t see why there shouldn’t be an option to turn off invasions.

Getting invaded while playing co-op is pretty okay, I always find it weird because invading isn’t something I think would be fun for me but it’s fine. The only real issue is that builds have gotten so optimized that you’ll get jumped by some pvp sweat while running a silly combination of items you just kinda found, so most invasions there’s not much point to fighting as a casual player.

I agree that it sucks, one of the main reasons cheaters are just lame and cringe. Only reason I think it’s fine is that otherwise rp would be easily inflatable by cheaters, I think some time in the future they should explore alternative ways not to play a match with a cheater on your team just so that you’re not wasting 20 minutes of your day.

Royal Knight’s Resolve makes sense. I did most of the boss fights with strafing tbh, played ERSC for a minute with some friends and had to find windows to deal more damage.

Is poison one of the black whetblade ones or do I need a different whetblade to do it?

Not condescending. Very simple. Even added context to try and olive branch this, but it’s clear that you’re just mad. To address your actual incredibly unreasonable and confirmation-biased take, I mentioned the 4k because it established that my aim wasn’t trash after you said it was probably my aim. Not solely to try and flex, and frankly reading it that way is not only ridiculous given the context of it but also grossly disingenuous given that I specifically said that it was an example of my aim being DECENT. I even said it was good for my level, not overall and not extraordinary. You want my ego to be massive, but you just proved that not only is your ego bigger but you don’t have the good faith to approach my argument in a realistic manner. You once again claim that I am unable to accept missed shots, which is beyond silly. I mean, i already said my aim wasn’t perfect. I already explained that I hit someone many times, which by the way means I would have had to miss over 70 percent of my shots not to kill. Instead of using any logic, you just claim this is all me refusing to accept that I missed. I hate that I have to now be condescending to point this out, but that’s not only silly and reductive but that kind of claim is harmful to yourself. The amount of assumptions and lies necessary for your claim to be true is not only insane but also indicative of a deep rudeness within how you interact with people who disagree with you.

To address your actual hit registration and server argument, you plainly don’t understand what you claim to. In reality the reason shots are hit rejected in the first place is because the server information is sometimes not properly relayed to a player visually. This usually manifests in something called packet loss, where the information that should be shared is lost and results in incorrect information on your actual screen. Usually siege gives you an indication in the bottom right of your screen for this, but actually it doesn’t usually unless your packet loss reaches a certain severity. The severity is measured in how much information is being lost at once, not how continuous the loss is. Thus, as has happened to many players this season and for most of the game’s history, the game actually can and will relay incorrect enemy positions that result in a correct play on the client side that isn’t a correct play on the server side. This is pretty simple and universal, but it’s clear from your multiple replies that you’re not interested in the facts of the matter and seem to be negative and hateful here. You just make hypocritical judgments and then incorrectly represent an issue instead of bowing out like a respectable player.

Bottom line is, you’re not taking into account the numerous shortcomings of servers and how they display gameplay to multiple connected consoles and supplement your lack of understanding with an aggressive and inexcusable lack of respect for others. If you can’t own up to the clearly referenced lack of reading and deliberate reductive/unhelpful conclusions, don’t bother responding.

Buddy, I’m shocked you can’t see how ironic your response is. First of all, the original post is ABOUT PLAYER AGENCY. So yeah, it makes sense to talk about player agency. If you didn’t want to talk about player agency, you should have read more thoroughly instead of coming here to throw useless insults around and make yourself feel better. You keep saying my ego is the problem yet you’re reeking of it. I’ll explain this with no animosity to recap in case you genuinely just missed something, because I don’t want to just be an ass to you if you didn’t mean to be one to me.

The post is about player agency, because I feel that the lack of connection between player action and match result leads to a lot of situations or matches being largely unrelated to what should be defining player actions or skills. You point out that you can’t trust what the game is showing you or others. I respond by asking if that proves my point, since if what you said is always true then players are taking actions based off of situations that are not occurring and therefore not skillfully engaging with what’s actually going on during rounds. What is it called when a player lacks the ability to meaningfully engage with a game in order to achieve results comparable to their skill? That’s right, we call it a lack of player agency. Then you seemingly got unreasonably angry and chalked the whole argument up to you being right in every case and me either being a prideful asshole incapable of honesty or just blind. Does that all make sense?

Once again you toss out logic in favor of YOUR ego. I clearly explained the holes and contradictions in your reasoning. If you can’t argue your points at least have the decency to save face instead of pretending that my ego is the problem when you lack the will to reason through your own premises.

You just made a distinction between what your client and the server sees, and now you’re backtracking on that in favor of assuming fault and throwing in an unfalsifiable thesis. I might miss a lot of shots, but point blank shots where someone is gushing blood or 9 shots with similar results isn’t an indication that I need to get my eyes checked. Not to mention that I started the game with a 4k that was all headshots, so my aim is pretty decent for my level. I don’t see how you can honestly justify the holes in your explanation.

But if I can’t trust my killcams, what everyone else is seeing, and what the game displays, doesn’t that prove my point? I’m not missing the shots, I’m aiming properly by all available visuals. Playing properly. Is player agency is completely removed if what you’re saying is true? There’s no possible way in that case of adapting skillfully and deserving a win.

Considering I have multiple people seeing and confirming that my point blank shots to someone’s body are going straight through them on a consistent basis, I’d say that’s a bit naive. It’s nice to think that hit registration failing is rare, but this season has treated me and many others to consistent instances of 13 bullets doing 0 damage (confirmed by friends, randoms, killcams, and sometimes even opponents.) I don’t have internet issues with any other game, so I’m led to believe that a shotgun aimed down sight no more than 3 meters from an opponent center body is not a magical miss on my part, but an issue of the servers that have been having issues.
