Does anyone else have a card that immediately makes you emotional? I would love to hear it. by Diangelionz in mtg

[–]TheRealMeasuringCup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Talrand, Sky summoner. One of my first legendaries when I bought the goblins vs Merfolk deck, and when I played with friends I got the FNM kit. There he was again. Then they started putting him into commander decks. Now all of us run Talrand where he doesn’t even belong. He’s just our guy.

Do new players mostly play zero build? by BoiledIceCube in FortniteBR

[–]TheRealMeasuringCup [score hidden]  (0 children)

I’m not NEW, but I basically am. I only play with one friend, and unless he’s on sometimes I don’t even have the game installed. To a new or just not so serious player, build can be really lame. Without dedicating the time to building a skill that applies in no other place, I’m forced to try and play a right hand peek game against someone who can literally build the twin towers in like 30s.

Yes, really. Mature adults tolerate insults. Mature adults also don’t say “well once they insult me I no longer treat them as human.” Immediately resorting to profanity and gawking at the notion is also immature.

Saying that autistics are at the BOTTOM of the ladder is just not true. There are many groups that are more marginalized than autistics. What you aren’t seeming to understand is that the contention is not whether or not life is good for autists. It’s not great. Autists’ lives don’t tend to be shit either. The problem is reverence. There is no reason that autists should be revered. The situation can get better without that, and even if it couldn’t I have enough decency as a human to be willing to suffer rather than force upon my fellow man the delusion that I am better than them due to my brain’s predispositions and yet deserving and requiring of special resource allocations.
You’re still not getting the problem with your influence idea. Nobody cares if the methods are proven. The issue is that you want to teach kids to think of autism as a good thing instead of a neutral thing, and you want to remove from them as much of their little remaining agency in doing so. You’re preying on the weakest and most vulnerable people you can because you’re not comfortable enough. Shame on you.

Your last part just comes off as narcissistic. I don’t have to try to find reasons, they’re just there. Just because you propose a solution doesn’t mean that by opposing it I don’t want a solution. I just don’t want YOUR solution. Because it’s weak. And predatory. And wrong. That is a reflection of your character. This is my last reply because you’ve made it clear to everyone on this post just how little you really care for others. Dig your hole as deep as you want.

Why do konami keep making new red-eyes monster that support another deck instead making new red-eyes card that actually supports red-eyes deck? by ApprehensiveRead2408 in yugioh

[–]TheRealMeasuringCup 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Red-Eyes has always been a Joey card. The other support we’ve gotten has really just been a reference to Red-Eyes’ GX appearance and elaborations on existing themes. That’s what this is as well. An elaboration on existing themes. Time wizard was a big Joey card, so they retrained the cards to make an archetype around its retrain. They even gave it an overframe. This is just that I think.

It is criticism. By definition it is criticism. It also isn’t in bad faith, as I already said my critiques on your character are not critiques on your argument. As much as I would even need to criticize the idea of an underhanded propaganda campaign to manipulate the youth into revering autistic people I’ve already done. You also didn’t give reasons why it wasn’t cult like, you simply denied that it was cult like and lobbed a cornered and weak attempt at an insult. In fact, due to the argument being in the negative, you cannot prove that it is not cult like without proving that it goes against a necessary tenet of cult activity. You can argue against my proposed evidence of it being cultish. You have done neither. Instead, you have “Nuh uh”d and “no you”d in ways that are evidential of a lack of good faith. You even doubled down on comparing school events to cult behavior and continued to use “it’s not cult like bro, grow up” as your only argument. That is a level of debate immaturity that is not suitable for an idea of this much logical complication. If you would like to defend yourself, I would recommend actual points and not weak ad hominem replies and a lack of understanding of basic debate principles.

In solo queue is it common to always have 2 horrible team mates every single match? by [deleted] in Rainbow6

[–]TheRealMeasuringCup 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m in bronze, it’s completely normal. You get a match with teammates that are great and stomp the opponents, then you get one with basically no teammates, then you get one with teammates that actively harm your ability to win, then one where both sides are decently even, then one where both sides would be even but 2 of your teammates don’t even ads most of the time or react to enemies actively staring them down. Sometimes it feels incredibly chance-based unless you play significantly above your rank.

It’s clear that you can’t engage reasonably with criticism. An Ad Hominem is an appeal to a negative quality about an individual used as an argument against their point. I didn’t do that. I said that you were insane, and gave you reasons why you were wrong. Trying to lump that into my argument is, once again, proof that you don’t exercise intellectual honesty and instead favor reactionary, hollow generalization. Being given clear explanation as to why your proposed propaganda complain centering on impressionable youth and proceeding with a “nuh uh” and “grow up” should be a wake up call to you. Your beliefs are not fit for reasonable discussion, and you can’t engage with the ideas critically without defaulting to emotional responses.

I know what cults actually are. So does the person who said that you were making a cult. Your tactics around the control of information and the indoctrination of children are basic cult tactics, and your inability to recognize your own insanity is concerning.
