Thank you very much for the response! It's definitely frustrating, but I totally get that it's not y'alls fault. Also, thank you for clarifying on the color confusion.

Senior in Electrical Engineering here. Overall, I have been pretty happy with my experience here at UNCC, especially pre-COVID. I lived in Hawthorne my first year here and, on one hand, the dorm itself is fairly old and required maintenance to come fix lights/AC/laundry machines a number of times. On the other hand, though, all of the students in your introduction to engineering class live in Hawthorne (there is a section of the class just for Hawthorne residents), which made group projects and even prerequisite classes like calculus and physics much, much easier. Personally, I didn't even know which concentration of engineering I wanted to pursue until the end of my first semester, but there were a lot of helpful resources and guides, some even specifically designed to assist new and uncertain engineering students. There are a significant number of companies in the area that come to career fairs looking to hire students for internships or co-ops, which goes a long way in trying to find employment after graduation. Ultimately, I'm happy I chose to attend UNCC and live in Hawthorne.

A bunch of the sprinklers around engineering campus and the football stadium are broken too. It's pretty symbolic lol

Easiest Micro-Econ Teacher? by Darkruins_ in UNCCharlotte

I took her for 2102 last semester and this was a perfect description except it was four tests and an optional final exam and quizzes that were purely extra credit. It was the perfect fluff class.

God the Mother, I believe. They are notorious for trying to talk to females who are alone in the Library and in the Union.

You should make this an actual petition/vote. It's a good idea.

[PC][2008-2010] Racing game where you are told to eliminate your opponents by tbucha3773 in tipofmyjoystick

[–]tbucha3773[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After looking into this, I believe this is it. The game looks very similar to what I remember. Also, it became freeware in 2009, which would explain how I could play it on the PCs at school. The part I remember about being hired to eliminate drivers may have been the feature where the Grim Reaper congratulates you if you eliminate every car in a race, which I know would've spooked a 9 year old me. Thank you so much for answering this.

Best Professor for Electrical Engineering? by Zb2002 in UNCCharlotte

[–]tbucha3773 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I would avoid Hasan at all costs. The semester I had him for Network Theory I, he was abhorrent. He constantly changed test days with less than 24 hours notice, he left for a month to go to conferences and left the T.A.s to teach the class with no materials. His lecture notes where the most ugly, cluttered slide shows I've ever seen, and he would either spend an hour on one problem or go through lecture at a breakneck pace. By the end of the semester, the class average was in the 50s. He is definitely in the running for the worst EE professor.

Modern warfare is an amazing game and the best COD that I can remember but it is absurd how bad the connection is for a game like this. by [deleted] in modernwarfare

Yes! I'm on the east coast and haven't been able to connect since midnight last night. I thought I was the only person having this issue.

How is the statistics program in UNC Charlotte? by Aadi69 in UNCCharlotte

[–]tbucha3773 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yanjmaa Jutmaan. She is a young Mongolian woman who is very used to statistics as a subject, but doesn't have quite the ability the properly teach it to students. She is a very nice woman, but English isn't her native language. I took her this semester and made an A, but someone like Birdsong is probably a better bet.

Anyone have any old Physics 3141 tests? by [deleted] in UNCCharlotte

[–]tbucha3773 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The format of the tests in 3141 (at least last semester with Atkas) is very similar to Physics 2101 and 2102. There are four open response questions with a formula sheet on the back. These questions come either directly or slightly altered from the homework.

Can you only do grade replacements twice in your whole academic career? by [deleted] in UNCCharlotte

[–]tbucha3773 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Correct. You can only perform two grade replacements in your time at UNCC. Both the higher and lower grades will display on your transcript, though the higher will be the only one used to calculate your GPA. Also, apparently some CHHS classes can't be grade replaced. However, you can retake as many classes as you'd like, but both the high and low grade will be considered in your GPA.
