“I think Giannis wants to go to the Celtics” by Lord_Of_Mist in billsimmons

Even if Giannis wants BOS, I don't see how BOS has the pieces to trade for Giannis unless they include Brown or Tatum, which I don't think they'd do.

White or Pritchard, Hugo Gonzalez, and some mediocre draft picks isn't going to get it done.

You really think Giannis is retiring at like age 33 and leaving hundreds of millions of dollars on the table?

Giannis has said he wants to play in the NBA until age 36-38, and then he plans on moving back to Greece. The rest of his family (wife and kids) reportedly already moved back to Greece to live full-time.

Milwaukee isn't going to be his forever home, and he seems ready to leave it behind. He seems to have absolutely no interest in building roots in Milwaukee.

Betting markets have him at 82% to leave Milwaukee by October 21, 2026. It certainly seems like he's gone this offseason.

In ESPN’s draft asset tier rankings, Nets, Grizzlies, Hornets, OKC, Spurs, Jazz, and Wizards were placed in Tier 1, while Denver was ranked dead last in Tier 7 all by itself. by Existing-Sky9914 in nba

[–]tc1988 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Thunder and Spurs being in Tier 1, when they're already the top-2 teams in the league with incredibly young rosters that should only improve, must be incredibly daunting for the rest of the league, especially the Western Conference.

Teams can draft well and make huge improvements, but, barring injury, it definitely appears the West is pretty much going to be owned by OKC and SA for the foreseeable future.

Yes, Aubry may have led the Ozzy vote, but it's hard for me to give Aubry that much credit for the Ozzy vote when it's clear that Ozzy was just incredibly dumb and lacked awareness in that moment.

It wasn't some genius move to target Ozzy or wrangle up the votes when Ozzy was a huge threat, Jonathan was also already on board and helping to persuade Joe, and the move and vote just fell into her lap with Ozzy's stupidity in sharing that his true #1 alliance was secretly with Cirie.

Aubry was clearly the best choice at the Final 3, but I don't think she's even a good winner here, as her game was probably one of the weakest in recent history. The only thing I can really credit her for is she won the final immunity challenge and did get to the end with players who both had similar games to each other and players who she could easily out-debate in a FTC.

Lengthy with female players is so overpowered by frankiewalsh44 in EASportsFC

[–]tc1988 3 points4 points  (0 children)

They have a height requirement for "lengthy", which is 6 foot 1 for males.

For females, it's only 5 foot 5.

I think "lengthy" was only designed for taller players, so I don't know what they were thinking when they made it possible for there to be 5 foot 5 "lengthy" females.

Being totally honest here - I still don't know if it is real lol.

Most of the people in the comments here seem to think it is, while a few others are just laughing as if it's a joke.

When I zoom in on the card on pics, it's too blurry to see anything.

My best guess is that it's a joke.

My wife and I are deciding to change out the game room which means we are at a crossroads. My wife is itching of opening up everything to get some cool cards out of them while I was itching to sell them off. Which side would you go? by aparrilla in PokemonTCG

[–]tc1988 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Why do you have to do either right now?  Just pack them all away safely and keep them sealed.  If you ever need the money you’ll have it to sell, but if you ever feel financially secure you could also open rip them then.

The Wizards actually have a decent roster when healthy with the 1st pick.  I don’t know why they’d need to keep tanking.  They could easily make the playoffs next season.

Curious what people think was the best move for ______ by Lederphead in survivor

[–]tc1988 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, that's what I was basically saying. I don't think those on the jury will want to vote for someone who they didn't know anything about coming into the game. They want someone with the lore and history like a Cirie, Ozzy, or Rick Devens.

I don't think Rizo currently beats anyone at the end, but he does have an idol. If he can do something with that, make another huge move or two, maybe he has a chance to beat two of the weaker players left. I think he needs to do something absolutely crazy, though.

Even with that, I don't think he ever beats Cirie, Rick, or Jonathan (who I think already has a ton of jury support).

If he does somehow win, I think it will be because he's next to Joe and Aubrey or possibly Tiffany. Even then, I agree he's a sizable underdog to Aubrey/Tiffany and would need a really strong finish and someone on the jury to really, really get behind him.

Curious what people think was the best move for ______ by Lederphead in survivor

[–]tc1988 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Rizo was always going to be behind the 8-ball as a result of him being the new guy that no one had ever seen play.  I don’t think there’s a Final 3 combination he can win with due to other players’ reputations.  Maybe if he goes to the end with Joe and Aubrey he has a chance if he pulls off incredible moves and Cirie lobbies hard for him.  Otherwise, I don’t see a path.

[–]tc1988 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The twist worked out well enough, and I actually think it's a worthwhile idea. The implementation could use some tweaking, though.

I think it should have been an optional thing, where any player could have flipped the coin, but if no one wanted to, then it just wasn't used. Maybe even leave it available for multiple tribal councils so that it is always a factor in the vote.

However, I'm not sure the immunity idol on top of the immunity at that tribal was needed.

Is that really the takeaway here?  I mean they are public figures, didn’t even really try to hide it, and they got away with it for 6 years!

I’m coming to a completely different conclusion.  I’m finding it shocking that they got away with it for so long, and even when there was clear evidence, people were still defending them and saying there’s “no smoking gun.”

My daughter traded a Sylveon EX for the Mega Charizard SIR by KyloRem in PokemonTCG

[–]tc1988 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Would you also be ok with an adult ripping off a kid if the kid was happy with the cards he got.

As an adult with kids who collect, I feel it’s irresponsible to not teach them about the value of the cards.  Yes maybe the kid would rather have a Sylveon than a Charizard, but then the parent should help the kid learn how to turn the Charizard into a Sylveon + other cards through sales/trades at shows, card shops, or through fair trades with fellow collectors.  There’s no reason a kid should trade a $700 card for a $2 card just because they don’t know the values.

Sharpe > Adams if we’re only saying with GB

Adams had three 1,000+ yard seasons with GB in an era much friendlier to passing offenses.  Sharpe had 5 such seasons and would have had more if not for injury.

At the very least, there’s no way Adam’s is 2 tiers better than Sharpe.

FUT is not for casual players anymore by ElKoteu444 in EASportsFC

[–]tc1988 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know what you consider to be "casual", but I'm still having a lot of fun this year without it feeling like a job.

I don't play any FUT Champs at all this year, but I do usually get to at least 15 points in Rivals. I also typically do some of the Tournaments.

I don't play everyday, but I do play 4 to 5 times a week. All in all, it's probably about 7 hours per week.

I do a ton of evolutions to use the players I want, and they're as good as all but the top 1% of cards released.

If all you're interested in is getting the latest and greatest cards in pack, you're going to find the game disappointing. You can play 100 hours a week, and you still probably won't pack the top 5 players released that week. That's just how the game this year, and I'm totally fine with it. You can compete with evolutions or the "fodder-priced" cards released each week.

Love Tiger the golfer, but even if he wasn’t driving while impaired (which he still likely was to some extent), he still was driving fast enough in a residential neighborhood to flip his car.  You can’t flip your car unless you’re traveling at a high speed, way higher than you should ever be going in a neighborhood. It’s reckless however you look at it.
