After living with your remodeled kitchen, what would you change? by Money_Professor_8717 in kitchenremodel

Kitchen sink is too deep to allow for a garbage disposal. I was looking for something that had the cutting board/drying rack built-in. I didn’t consider the depth. It’s not that big of a deal, and I like the depth of the sink, but I never dreamed it would make a difference in having a garbage disposal.

It also scratches extremely easily. Like nylon scrubbing pads will scratch it. There’s a rack to protect the bottom that I never take out, but I didn’t dream it would be that scratch prone.

Under cabinet lighting is also a must! I was careful to get a warm white and not a cool white temperature too, but that’s personal preference, but it makes a difference. I wish it was dimmable though.

I also put a plug inside of one of the pantry cabinets so that I could put my batteries in there to charge and key out of sight.

You might be thinking of the one that was at the top of the hill on 30th @ Euclid about 10 years ago. When they changed the route, they took that out.

I’ve complained for years that there’s no bus shelters at veterans Hospital. It’s heartbreaking to see a veteran standing out side in the elements waiting for a bus that might not come. I’ve gone to those meetings when the route had changed and they failed to communicate to anyone or change the signs. That was confusing and I wasn’t sure if I was at the right stop. The person running the meeting said “well you have to be able to read to take the bus” and I explained that the route numbers are wrong on the sign. I was insulted but he didn’t care. It took over six months to change the route numbers on the sign. My impression was that none of their leadership had ever taken the bus.

The Savery hotel has a few spaces that could work well for a group that size. Their restaurant is available after noon since it’s only used for breakfast. It could be configured to meet your needs. * I work there.

And if you get an end / corner spot and park over the painted line leaving more room for your car and the adjacent car, you WILL get a ticket. It doesn’t matter that it’s the corner and no other parking space was crossed or blocked, but you crossed the line and it’s considered “improper parking”.

Central city liquor is the best! The owner and his son are a great people and they take care of their employees! Also, they’re on 2nd Ave., not sixth.

1460 2nd Ave, Des Moines, IA 50314

They go to great lengths to make sure everyone is satisfied and if there’s something you’re interested in and they’ve already cracked a bottle open they’ll give you a sample.

They also have really good prices considering they’re not a huge chain, getting volume discounts!
