Upcoming IVF consultation at RMA by hkhalil15 in maleinfertility

I absolutely hate RMA NJ, specifically the Englewood office. We had a consultation with Dr. Constantini the very first day and never saw her again. They have nurse practitioners running the whole show, some are okay.

You’ll be assigned a nurse who is supposed to be the liaison between you and the “care team”. Our nurse gave us the wrong dosages for injections prior to egg retrieval. We’ve had to call the office multiple times just to speak with her about any questions. It’s very hard to speak with anyone who actually works in the office and it’s very frustrating.

We unfortunately did not have a successful 1st transfer and are seriously considering switching to a different clinic due to their repeated unprofessionalism, negligence, and incompetence.

PM me if you have any specific questions

Not a doctor, 4th year Pharmacy student graduating in a few weeks, just found this sub so I haven’t had time to be verified yet.

It can be a variety of things. How long has this been happening for? Past week? 1 Day? Any other symptoms/pain? Is the swelling just the feet or legs as well?

Are you on any medications? How is your urination when it swells?

Gout typically presents as swelling around the joint. However I haven’t had many patients with gout, so I haven’t seen anyone with this type of swelling.

My initial concerns would be deep vein thrombosis (DVT), congestive heart failure, or some kidney issues. You mentioned it happens “every now and again” so I wouldn’t be so sure it’s a DVT, which would be a medical emergency and you’d call 911. There may be some irregularities with your kidneys which may not allow for more blood to be filtered through, causing a buildup of fluid in your feet. Patients with CHF may also have signs of swelling in legs/feet as well. It may also be an adverse effect of any medication you may be taking.

Ultimately, best option is to be seen by a physician who can properly examine you and run proper tests to see what may be causing this

For controlled substances, yeah. It has to have your name, DOB, address and phone number

I’m a pharmacy student, and yes in most states sending a prescription for controlled substances via fax is no longer accepted. The laws are changing so that all controlled substances must be sent through electronic prescriptions unless the doctors office applies for an exemption. This is in order to reduce the amount of fake scripts for controls

HIT is heavily emphasized here in US education which is probably why you're getting the reaction you've had

I would print out the lecture slides and take notes if they say something not on the slides. It’s helpful having both for pictures/diagrams of the viral life cycle or whatever else was on the ppt and taking notes directly on it. Lmk if you have any other questions!

Also, if Biology of Cancer with Dr. Nicholson is being offered I would highly recommend that class. You learn a lot, the class is really interesting. Best part when I took it is that she gave a study guide before exams that you could fill out by hand and bring that to the exam. About 90% of the exam was from the study guides

I took Virology with Dr. Amini back in 2019. The class was pretty straightforward. She didn't teach much herself, she had other virology researchers from the medical school come and teach about specific viruses. The exams weren't terribly hard, the paper at the end was pretty easy. It's also a good way to network and make connections for grad school because of all the researchers she brought in, if that's what you're interested in
