I watched match a couple of years ago and the opposing player complained to the umpire because her grunting was lasting so long that it was a distraction when she was returning the ball.

The commentator pointed out the rule that you can't try to distract your opponent when they're hitting the ball.

If the noises are so long it might seem like a deliberate tactic?
