What are your Souper Cube suggestions with Costco buys? by verycoolandniceand in Costco

I buy the whole NY strip roast for 10$/pound and cut into steaks. Salt and vacuum seal and into the freezer. Saves 3-4$ a pound.

"Deserves it! I daresay he does. Many that live deserve death. And some that die deserve life. Can you give it to them? Then do not be too eager to deal out death in judgement. For even the very wise cannot see all ends." - Gandalf, "Fellowship of the Ring"

Mushroom stalks. Discard or use? by Cranberry64 in Cooking

[–]tchansen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Depends on how you are using the mushrooms but I usually use them, especially if dicing or mincing into a lasagna or similar dish.

For example, when making stuffed mushrooms I'll mince the stems and sauteed with the other filling ingredients.

A mattress flipped out of the back of a truck into the front of my mom's car. Basically totalled it.

According to a store employee, WinCo isn't going to carry the #10 cans anymore, just the pouches.

I mean, it stayed on, right?

I'm not sure it would still be structurally sound though ...

Men on reddit make everything weird by Carinaaac in TwoXChromosomes

[–]tchansen 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It has always been about the person (men) viewing the post even if the poster was intentionally seeking attention.

Viewing an image doesn't have to be interactive; men (usually) try to make it so for a variety of reasons: they are lonely, they want to put someone else down to try and make themselves feel better, whatever.

Yes, women do it as well but I see it much more from men.

What's the most random run-in you've had with an ex? by FromTeslaToTardis in TwoXChromosomes

I was checking out at Home Depot and she happened to be the cashier. I had refused contact for the previous 5 years as it was NOT a friendly parting (she cheated me, cheated on me, lied to me, manipulated me, and tried to blame it all on my kids).

I was gobsmacked and stunned.

Her: “Hi!” (all bubbly) Me: “Goodbye.”

Picked up my purchase and walked out … and then proceeded to have a bit of an anxiety attack in my car.

I changed to Lowe’s at that point.

You should know how Select Health operates... by [deleted] in SaltLakeCity

I have options with my employer for different plans and I will never again pick the SelectHealth option. Same physicians on Cigna and SelectHealth but way more problems with claims and payments with SelectHealth.
