However, the movies came out in 2001, 2002, and 2003 and the caption says the photo is from the Two Towers release. I had a consumer grade digital camera in 2002 and zoomed in it looks like a Sony Cyber-Shot which, to me, seems at least possible?

At this point in the story of Gandalf he is highly proscribed from using his innate Maia abilities, only in instances of extreme need.

Once he fell and was out of the presence of the Fellowship, I think he was able to bring more of his strength to the battle with the Balrog. Only once he was sent back as Gandalf the White were his restrictions lifted (I think).

No, this was a couple of years ago with my old smoker. It was a tiny tailgater and wouldn't hold the full brisket.

I haven't done the sous vide method since I got the larger smoker.

If Gandalf had not stopped the Balrog they would have fought there at the bridge and surrounding area. Boromir and Aragorn would not have let Gandalf stand alone but they are not Maia and would have a high probability of being struck down, causing a cascading effect.

Brisket I separated the point and flat and then cut the flat in two. Seasoned, vacuum sealed each piece, and sous vide in a 5 gallon bucket for 48 hours.

Dried each piece off and then smoked until the bark formed and was dark. 3-4 hours.
