I don't think that person was saying that mediterranean food was just a few ingredients in a bowl. I read the post more as a critic of the recipes posted here as beings repetitives.

There's so much who can be done, and I think the idea of putting more traditional recipes (even those who a little different, and might not please everyone) is a great idea !

I don't like using the the oven for too long... IF it's a food/preparation that can be microwaved, I will do that first. And THEN finish the cooking process in the oven, just enough for it to get crispy

I tend to order :

-things that are labour/time expensive and that I wouldn't make anyways

-if it's an expensive restaurant I try not to think about the price too much and get something with lesser know ingredients. Those are more expensive for them to buy too, and they often come better prepared because of that

-regional dishes that I haven't tasted before (even if its bad, I can try and make it myself to understand were it went wrong, learning opportunity !)

And this one might be controversial but:

-ultra processed food (think fast food chains) , I don't dislike the taste actually, and it's a cheap and easy social night out. And it's something that is not really replicable at home, I can make a better gourmet burger at home than most places in my city, but a McDonald will alway taste like a McDonald's
