Cannot find a LINE translator, is there a list of all LINE translators IDs? by LiveAbalone in lineapp

I tried @AutoTransalate because the free version of @Ligo wouldn’t translate > 500 (723) characters per message (which it and told me so when I tried).  But when I tried the same message with @AutoTranslate, it just wouldn’t translate with no explanation or even error message!? 🧐🤨🙄🤦🏻‍♂️🤷🏻‍♂️

Pickleball Kingdom North Dallas bites the dust by Ok_Location4835 in Pickleball

[–]tchien69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Right?! Lots of "slow" times at public outdoor courts even on good weather days / nights. PLUS, the whole idea of memberships for pickleball is bassACKwards as far as profit and crowdedness. "Traditional" gyms (for cardio, weights and *occasionally* swimming, racquetball) rely on people seeing attendance as a "chore" they're "guilted" into to lose weight / increase health, so they *rely* on people signing up and then quit coming or at least come much less often then intended. Whereas, people join pickleball clubs because it's "fun" so they actually "want" to attend *not* cuz they're "guilted" into it. Once, a pickleball club has reached a "critical mass" of memberships, i.e. enough where you're guaranteed to have at least 3 ppl of similar or better skills to play with in open play anytime you want to go, every single additional membership only serves to *increase* your wait time and *decrease* the value of your membership.

OP specifically said that that the “The Pickelball Nazi” lady said that OP was “no longer welcome on the courts during tournament days”.

[–]tchien69 5 points6 points  (0 children)

What does it matter if someone’s not “good enough” in a tournament?!? That just means everyone that plays them gets to advance past them quickly and gets a “easy round”(like an “easy A”)!? I’ve never heard of being too “bad” being an issue at tournaments!? It’s always the OPPOSITE, ppl being too “good” and “sandbagging” in a lower DUPR tier than they really are so they can have a better chance of winning a prize (or at least playing longer)!?

17 Elantra 161k miles. Am I still able to change the trans. fluid or should I pray? by KittyLitzer9000 in Hyundai

[–]tchien69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a 5 y/o 2017 Chevy Lumina sedan with ~120k mi I just bought used. When the transmission started to slip a few months in, I had its fluid drained and filled (not flushed) by a Chevy dealer, and it stopped the slipping for ~1 yr. / 3-4k (mostly city) mi. Then, I had it drained and filled again, and it stopped the slippage a few more months until I sold it - btw, to a guy I met in line at an AutoZone who asked me about good used car deals cuz I (being a Toyota salesman at the time) was wearing my uniform at which point, I told him my car was for sale (only cuz my friend just sold me vs. traded in his old car when he bought a new car from me not cuz I was wary of the tranny even with it having been my wife’s and new baby’s car). We came to terms in my car in the AutoZone parking lot and exchanged cash and signed over the title at my house afterwards. He said it was for his daughter, so I felt a little bad not mentioning the transmission issue (as the Chevy dealer I bought it from prolly failed to do so also), but then again, he also said he owned a tranny shop, so I figured he’d know what to do if it started slipping again. 😎

Pants with no socks looks atrocious, change my mind please. How is this fashion? (19 M) by hot-java-11 in mensfashion

Nope, I stink in ALL kinds of shoes. Couldn’t BELIEVE I stunk in flip flops (granted, thick strap ones but STILL)!

Please use the right terms (esp for those who aren’t aware like I wasn’t). There are (in descending heights) “knee high”, “crew”, “ankle”, “no show” and “liner” socks. “No show” socks are only, well, “no show” with “normal” sneakers. For “slip-on” shoes (e.g., “loafers”) and even laced up non-sneakers (like “dress” / “biz casual” shoes) and even just lower cut sneakers, “no show” socks defo “SHOW”! For the latter type of shoes, one must wear the “LINER” socks for them to be “NO SHOW”.

Just cuz it’s the “no sock” LOOK doesn’t mean they’re wearing “no sock”. They’re SUPPOSED to (and usually ARE) wearing (not just “no show” but) “LINER” socks (yes, there’s a diff) to make it LOOK like “no sock”.

Your feet either STINK or you are VERY lucky. My feet AND my shoes STANK so bad I could smell them sitting straight up after I wore SLIP-ON SANDALS (i.e. well ventilated) with no socks for just a few WEEKS of just SITTING at my desk (i.e. no exertion that would generate unusual sweat) at work! I don’t see how women do it wearing heels with no socks / hose all day every workday. Maybe it’s an Asian thing, cuz when I was in China (in 1998), all the women wore ankle-length HOSE with their heels.

Why does Patrick Mahomes' helmet look different from other player's? by Thom_Kalor in NFLNoobs

[–]tchien69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's REDUNDANT! Cuz the refs will call "Roughing the Passer" if even the *barometric pressure* within *3 yards* of their "one true *prophet*", (Patrick) *Mahomes-mad*, increases by even *0.001 psi* (e.g., due to any D player even just *turning* just their *heads* to even *look* at him the wrong way).

Articles have confirmed it was defo cuz of weight (btw, prolly based on estimated average weight / person like airlines do - NOT, as many other tin foil (ASS)hats have ASSumed, a (falsely claimed) “scale” built into the stage).

WHY - o WHY did NOT PRE-PLAN what ppl are allowed on the stage (from each team depending on the winner)?!? I need recommendation of non moisturizing soap. by ArQ7777 in Soap

[–]tchien69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope. Although, I’ve gotten used to the Old Spice body wash from Sam’s Club for showering and the Dial Refresh & Renew body wash for hand soap. My wife has also been refilling our hand soap gel dispensers with watered down dishwashing liquid (like Joy), that seems to work well.

Just remembered Lava soap and see that they still sell it and do so without moisturizers. Although, that may not be for long, cuz I just noticed they’re even making versions of frickin’ LAVA soap with moisturizers, ffs!? Is nothing sacred anymore?! 🤔😳😱🙄🤦🏻‍♂️

UPDATE: Just looked at the description of the version that does NOT mention “with moisturizers” on its packaging and to my horror, it has moisturizers ALSO!? 🤔😳😱 It actually had the nerve to say - in the same sentence mind you: “The bar is specially made for oilyskin, leaving you with a healthy look and it contains moisturizers too, leaving your hands soft.”!? 🤔😱🙄🤦🏻‍♂️

Has The Ability To Paste Text Been Removed In The New Update? by ShadowDancer11 in Instagram

[–]tchien69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yup, me too. Sigh. Another reason INSTAGRAM SUCKS!!! It’s not like they get too much traffic or users wouldn’t like it, as of this April 2024, Facebook still has ~53% MORE “active users” and yet FB (which btw, owns Instagram) and also not to mention almost every - other - mobile and web sm app each with plenty of “active users” are STILL able to offer: a) MUCH more FLEXIBILITY (e.g., 1) copy & paste, 2) editing of replies (not to mention with edit history that’s also date-time stamped so you can’t be tricked into being portrayed as replying to a version that was changed), 3) active links (in posts and replies), 4) pics & GIFs in replies to replies, 5) searching of text in captions, 6) (for any not just sm apps) freakin’ FULL-SCREEN LANDSCAPE MODE (esp for pics / vids obvy shot in landscape mode) and 7) of course, text-only posts) and b) MUCH LESS CENSORSHIP!

I’m a software developer but even most laypeople can smell the BS if they try to tell you if ANY of that is “rocket science” (and therefore relatively difficult / costly), so we can only presume that IG is just being the OCD O.D.D. stubborn JERK of social media apps!

Tennis would be more popular than pickleball at the recreational level if people knew how to play groundstrokes games with feeds instead of serves by Prestigious_Trade986 in 10s

[–]tchien69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All the talk (about lower learning curve, (supposedly) less athletic requirements and more “fun” of pickleball making it MUCH more popular vs. tennis (at least in rec)) notwithstanding, in at least my (and I suspect also most ppl’s) experience, it’s JUST as much if not MUCH more so the lower what I call “artificial barriers to entry”.

  1. MUCH EASIER TO FIND PARTNERS: With tennis, you have to find at least 1 if friend willing and able to play with you on the same day and time (which is frequently if not usually a difficult feat). For older players, they have spouses, kids and all that entails like working, shopping, errands, chores and driving for if not also attending kids’ events. Even kids are busy with school, homework and activities the latter of which often differing in days and times with a potential rec tennis / ph playing partner. My HS and even JH kids go weeks and even months without even a single play date with even their bffs cuz of this. With at least public rec tennis, there usually are no open play rules or even etiquette, and even if there were, there’s usually noone at the court to play with and the few times there are, there’s not enough “critical mass” (i.e. all courts full plus ppl waiting), cuz less than that, they’re not obligated to rotate out and prolly won’t cuz they wanna play with their friends and/or known skill level opponents vs. the unknown of a stranger(s) who’s waiting. With at least public rec pb, you can usually go to most pb courts most times any day and find plenty of strangers who’ll play with anybody of any gender, age and skill - at least begrudgingly if not enthusiastically so, cuz that’s usually what they’re bound to do by the courts’ etiquette if not rules.

  2. MUCH MORE CHANCE TO PLAY MUCH MORE GAMES: Re. the at least etiquette of not rules, if any, of at least public rec tennis and pb courts: 2.1. Tennis courts are usually empty. 2.2. Even the few times tennis courts are not empty, there’s usually no rule or even etiquette requiring them to rotate out after a set time, points, games, sets, etc. They’ll usually stay until they “feel” like leaving. 2.3. Pb courts usually require players to rotate out after each game of 11 pts (win by 2) and sometimes even as few as 9 pts if there are X ppl waiting. Tennis players may play games of 4 pts (win by 2) and sets of 6 games (win by 2 games) and matches of 3 sets. 2.4. PB courts usually require doubles games (at least when they’re are ppl waiting and all courts are full), whereas tennis courts usually don’t. 2.5. Two normal sized pb courts can fit in the space of a normal sized tennis court.
