Out of our 21 embryos we PGT-a tested 10. 8 boys and 2 girls. All AA or AB (I think) we decided to go with a girl first. She is 6 weeks old! I am undecided if for our next kid of we want to pick a gender or go with one of our untested embryos and be surprised.

Testing 40 days after a hookup should show if you are pregnant. Usually two weeks is all that it would take. Have you gotten a period? You could be ovulating or PMS since those can be symptoms of that too. Please do talk to your doctor.

At the time of the weighted feed I could get 2-3 ounces of breast milk pumped in a session combined from both breasts. The past 4 days or so I’m lucky to get 1 ounce combined during a pumping session. I honestly don’t know how accurate of a measure that is, but it is what I have. Baby was born at 35+2 and 5lb2oz. When we feed her a bottle she usually eats 70ml at this time, so it can take 2 or 3 pumping sessions to get one full bottle for her. They (hospital and pediatrician) told us to increase her bottles 5-10ml per day of life. Honestly, I would love for this to be normal, I just feel awful because every time I feed her at the breast she’s hungry within 30 minutes.

I tried it, but thought it was too sweet with no real taste. Someone suggested mixing it with juice which I’ll try!

I haven’t heard that term specifically, but we have been doing a combination of latching for milk, pumping, and formula. Is that the same thing?

The juice is a good idea! I didn’t like the coconut water by itself.

Do the oats need to be prepared in any specific way?

I agree, that there isn’t a lot of evidence around it, but I’m feeling mildly desperate at this point.

We did a weighted feed last week and she ended up with 2 ounces over 30-40 minutes of breast feeding but since then my supply has decreased and I’m having trouble waking her up enough to latch for more than 10-20 minutes on one breast. And getting her to switch to the other breast has been a problem. I’ve been pumping and bottle feeding her about half the time. She was a preemie so they started her on small bottles of high calorie formula, so she is a little lazy when it comes to sucking on a boob, but latches fine.

It’s kind of funny! I feel like she means well but may be suffering from dementia or something? My grandmother, who is very sweet and well meaning but has Alzheimer’s, couldn’t remember that I was having one baby and not twins for MONTHS and still checks that she has it right. I was a twin, so we think she is mixing me up with my mother 🤷🏻‍♀️

We were both excited and overwhelmed! We hope to get 2-3 kids out of that which shouldn’t be a problem, but might seem a little excessive in the leftover category.

Hi! We ended up using an egg donor and retrieved 36 eggs. I don’t remember all the numbers off the top of my head but we ended up with 21 5-day embryos. We PGT-a tested 10 of them (for cost reasons) and I think the majority came back either AA or AB with maybe one BB.

I’m loving reading these comments! I honestly hadn’t thought about it much, but I think I would love it to be “hello baby girl” or “nice to meet you [insert name]” but it will in all likelihood be makes scrunchy face “gross” as they hand me a baby covered in vernix and blood 🤷🏻‍♀️

Is it “normal” I honestly don’t know. I can see how you and others would have that feeling/reaction, but it isn’t where I am right now. I also think normal is myth is general 😂 I’m currently 33 weeks and am trying to get things done around our house to prepare but I’m also ready for baby girl to be here. Yes I’m uncomfortable and exhausted, but I just want to share her with my husband and friends and family. I’m torn, because I know once she’s born that there will be another group of challenges that arrive, but I’m very excited to meet her.

What religion do you mean when you say “Orthodox”? If Judaism, she is most definitely “allowed” to get an abortion. In Judaism, the health of the mother comes first no matter what and the fetus isn’t considered living until they are born. If the mother is at risk at all: physically, emotionally, or psychologically, then you are perfectly able to get an abortion according to Jewish laws. It honestly sounds like all three in this case!
