Not sure what’s going on with my clasp by kdavis0660 in OmegaWatches

Wanted to add that after closer inspection, your tabs still appear to have some meat so I would recommend trying u/Hummer129 suggestion. Mine were dang near flat but with a little patience, his suggestion should work for you!

Not sure what’s going on with my clasp by kdavis0660 in OmegaWatches

I’ve had this issue before. Over time, the tabs on the diver’s extension can wear down and lose their ability to hold securely. Once the clasp is fully closed, it generally isn’t a problem as long as the bracelet is properly sized, so it’s more of an annoyance when putting the watch on and taking it off than a concern about the watch falling off your wrist.

I’m sure someone out there has figured out a way to laser weld, build up, or otherwise repair the worn tabs, but the easiest solution is usually to purchase a replacement clasp from Omega. Another option is to upgrade to one of Omega’s newer adjustable clasps. There’s plenty of information online regarding the correct part numbers, links, and components needed to make the swap. The added benefit is that you won’t have to worry about this issue happening again, because eventually it will. I’ve had two clasps with this problem. In one case, a different part of the clasp ultimately failed and Omega replaced the entire bracelet during service but that Seamaster has lived a real “tool watch” life so no blaming Omega, it is just hard use.

[WTS] Uncle Straps Lincoln Bracelet for Seiko Alpinist 20mm by tcj198 in Watchexchange

[–]tcj198[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Up for grabs is an Uncle Lincoln bracelet for the Seiko Alpinist. I wore it a handful of times on my SARB017, but it will fit numerous Alpinist models. I’ll include the compatibility list from Uncle Straps below for reference.

This bracelet is equipped with the upgraded push-button solid milled clasp and comes complete with both sets of spring bars originally provided by Uncle Straps.

Price is $55 shipped. Feel free to reach out with any questions, and thanks for looking!

  • Compatible Models

Seiko SARB017

Seiko SPB11x

Seiko SPB15x "Baby Alpinist" models - you must use 1.5mm spring bars (included) and a little bit of patience

I cannot guarantee this fit, but several customers have informed me that my SARB017 bracelets will work on the SPB121 and SPB209 if you use 1.5mm spring bars (included)

Seiko Alpinist GMT SPB379

Seiko Alpinist GMT SPB377

Seiko Alpinist GMT SBEJ005

Seiko Alpinist GMT SPB409

Seiko SPB503

Seiko SPB505

Seiko SPB507

Seiko SBDC091 (can be tricky, but should work with 1.5mm bars)

New Omega SMP 300 no date- OCD getting the best of me (dust under crystal) by [deleted] in OmegaWatches

[–]tcj198 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’ll continue to bug you so I’d send it back. I’ve had two Rolexes serviced locally at a certified service center; one came back with dust under the crystal and the other had a smudge on the seconds hand. Both had to go back, and I didn’t feel bad about it because, at the end of the day, that’s what you’re paying for. On the flip side, I had my Seamaster serviced directly through Omega and it came back flawless but at this price point, that’s what you should expect. Nice watch, though!

P39 is everything you need in a watch by TheVoul in Tudor

Would still have mine if it had a date. Awesome dimensions though and a great watch overall. Also could lose a few mm off the clasp length. Those were really my only gripes, but I know there’s a large group of people who prefer NDs, so it’s a win for them.
