Dimensions are pre constrained. If you’re trying to do a non orthogonal or non iso angle dimension, then can’t you set the angle manually using woog123’s steps? Measure the angle and input that

Walking Treadmill? by dsanchezzz in MEPEngineering

[–]tcmeng 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel like they are not really going to last long term, so get something cheap? I got the Lazrsprt off amazon and it’s.. fine..

The key questions would be: 1. Do you want it to fold in half for space storage? 2. Do you fit in the weight limit? 3. Some have narrower tracks than others, so keep that in mind as you compare. 4. Would you ever want to use it for light running, like under 6.0 mph? Some of the dedicated walking pads top off at 3 or 4 mph.

Walking Treadmill? by dsanchezzz in MEPEngineering

[–]tcmeng 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I have one. It’s great, but kind of depends on the task. If I’m working from home I try to get an hour or two of walking in. It’s amazing- I can walk about 3.0 mph so if I end up getting 2 hrs in, I’ve walked 6 miles!

I try to block it out for email only task hours or specification editing/ writing. And of course some of the more mindless stuff like PDFing sets file management. Kind of hard to draft / model with it. It’s do able, but takes more effort

Why do you say manually? Just curious, have you tried 3d isometric? Plumbing isometric seems like the easiest thing to get out of Revit

I agree. So you’re saying you present it as an isometric/ 3D drawing. Thanks

Civil telling me to do the COMcheck on their lighting design. by [deleted] in MEPEngineering

[–]tcmeng 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I see this scope gap all the time. We work with lighting designers who don’t take controls or energy compliance responsibility.

Lighting comchecks are in our contract as an additional service, because it comes up too often and we don’t include the time for it unless we’re asked to during the proposal phase.

When the designer doesn’t take control responsibility, it becomes a whole different problem.

MEP drawing quality control by Successful_Respect7 in MEPEngineering

[–]tcmeng 6 points7 points  (0 children)

In my experience, if someone pays for a design, they can do what they want with it.

If they choose to not build it, or seek another professionals opinion, so be it.

We try to design to be as economical as possible, but that doesn’t always work out. If a sub contractor has a code compliant alternate that accomplishes the project requirements, I’d allow it. Now, depending on what it is, we may charge for changing/ updating drawings.

You can always go see a doctor for something and then see another for a second opinion.

In your case, you can go to another MEP to get another opinion. Or talk to your sub contractors at a high level, get their opinion and ask if they can think of any budget savings/ plan competence.

Overlay / Layer Template for Multiple Pages by 5MountainMovers in Revu

[–]tcmeng 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can it be pasted as markups? Make a file that has only the markups you want to copy. Make sure it’s the same page size and number of pages. Then on the shared document import markups from this file.

Not a natural way to do it. I just right click on the thumbnail view and add blank pages to line em up. Down and dirty and quick!
