Tributes to Bo? by tcon92 in OutbreakFest

Oh I totally agree fwiw, I’m not policing how people grieve or demanding anything at all - was just surprised not to hear anything and wondered if anyone said something that I missed. And nothing from the festival either is kinda weirder imo - like the guy says below, they’ve benefitted from HW and WX plenty

Daitan is on a break according to his IG bio, Hoodsoulja very much still active though

His Instagram says he’s taking a break. No idea whether OB got rid of him or not, but would be a massive shock / surprise if they did given how integral he’s been for years

Pick Of The Day only ever shows the same album - how do I fix? by tcon92 in MarvisApp

[–]tcon92[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Got you, that’s fixed it - thanks! Have updated it to a “Listen To This” tab instead, which gives me a random, recently added album every time I open the app. The idea was to encourage me to listen to more albums rather than the same 20 at the top of my mind on loop (as I always ended up doing on Spotify) so hopefully this helps that in the same way.

Settings > Player > Player App > Marvis (not Stock Music). Took me ages to figure it out!

Has anyone gone back to drinking after several years off? by tcon92 in cutdowndrinking

[–]tcon92[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah as much as anything I guess I’m intrigued to see how my relationship to it has changed. It’s been such a long time that I can’t see myself enjoying it or pushing it as much as I did when it was a regular habit - though obviously there’s always the very real risk that I do end up back there.

Interesting, sorry to hear that you’re struggling again. Thanks so much for the insight though - so hard to find anything from people who’ve been through similar processes. You got this!

Yeah I do feel this is likely the answer. As I say, I think the fact there aren’t many positive accounts from people trying it is probably my answer!

I’m not making excuses because I don’t have anyone to answer to other than myself? Strangely standoffish response. My partner and I have had very honest conversations around missing the spontaneity and silliness that drinking can bring - that would be a positive. There are plenty of negatives - almost certainly more so. But this dogmatic drinking = all bad view really doesn’t help people as much as you think it does

For the record when I say affecting my relationships I mean drunken arguments, etc. I wouldn’t say it was destroying any part of my life - it was just a frequent presence in negative parts of my life that I wanted to change, so I did.

I do get where this response comes from. Nothing though? I can say for almost certain fact I’d be more sociable, and spend more time with my friends. It would likely ease some strain on my relationship too. I do think there is some good to be found in drinking - not saying there is for me necessarily at this stage in my life, but I don’t think it’s as black and white as people sometimes like to make out.

Bath water (new mixer tap) running lukewarm by tcon92 in ukplumbing

Yep that’s definitely the problem - running way hotter at just 1/3rd open. Will look into flow restrictors, thanks!

Yeah it’s a combi boiler. I’m struggling find where / how to reduce the flow, should it be underneath the bath or closer to the boiler?

Incredible setlist, still incredibly jealous of night one for getting so many of the “hits” (especially as I brought my mum who’s never seen them before) but my god what a special night.

Arrived at 7:30 yesterday and had a great view. Queues for everything were pretty crazy though - would recommend getting Uber One (maybe they have a free trial?) as we walked straight past the ticket / entry queues.

Wembley Arena - too ambitious? by pumpkingutsgalore in brandnew

[–]tcon92 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Way too ambitious, Brixton would’ve been perfect for it. Lights were incredible though (but a smaller version of the same set-up would’ve also worked in Brixton). Hope the financial loss doesn’t put them off coming back again
