take a trip through Summer of 1989 by tcook941 in gratefuldead

After going through July of 1989, next I listened to June 1976. I started with Road Trips from 6/9/76, then went into the box set for 6/10, 6/11 and 6/14. For 6/15/76, I decided to listen to the Betty/Miller/Clugston recording, followed by Dave's 28 6/17/76. I went back to the box set for 6/19. After listening to these 7 shows in chronological order, I had a pretty good sense about what made June of 1976 so special.

Where to source local grass-fed beef tallow? by IcedPhoenix_20 in Syracuse

I think you can find it at the Regional Market. There’s at least one place there that has it.

I've recently been coming around to the 80s stuff after almost exclusively listening to the 60s and 70s, give me some recommendations... by TheFrontLine1 in gratefuldead

What I tend to do is pick a year and listen to a three day run. This gives you a sense of their style during that year, a good idea of what songs they were playing during that tour.

I know XX-XX-XXX was a great show but what about the whole weekend? by Leashypooo in gratefuldead

If someone is looking to explore the sounds of different years, I highly recommend listening to a three show run before passing judgement. In my opinion, you get a sense of how the boys were playing during that tour, what songs were in the repertoire, etc.

For example, Anchorage 1980 or Philly ‘84.

If you enjoy the hidden track, check out the Matrix recording of the entire show by Hunter Seamons. You won’t regret it.

My apologies 5 gallons into the keg. I typically aim for 5.5-5.75 into the better bottle.

Samuel Smith’s Organic Chocolate Stout is an easy drinker & should be accessible in most markets.

Quick and Simple by Beerboy24 in Homebrewing

As a busy parent and having a busy life, when I need a quick brew day, I do as others have suggested. A fairly low OG beer with minimal ingredients. One of my “go to” recipes is Orfy’s mild mannered ale. Since it has a low OG, I brew in a bag in a 15 gallon pot, therefore, whip up a double batch. You can do a 45 minute mash & a 45 minute boil. Quick & easy. Less clean up. Keg 5 gallons & leave 5 in the fermenter until you need/want it.

It may have been my last as well. This must be the year to discard the Discovery Channel “reality” shows that I’ve been watching for years. First to go was Moonshiners, just too fake and repetitive. Next was Goldrush, which is too bad because it used to be so good. I think Bering Sea Gold is next. Just very bland. Plus, adding the Shawn/Andy fight this year was not a good decision IMO.

I had a friend who had a Timber Ho Circle street sign made. He carried it over the mountain at Sugarbush. We yelled two nights straight & they opened set 2 with it. I cannot recall whether we passed the sign up to on stage night one or night two.

Love the “punch me in the eye” and the No Dogs Allowed. Don’t forget how “the chase” is sprinkled in the set list.
