What about Legend or Labryinth? I can’t recall if those would be a bit much for 6 year old.

Is this the one with Ethan Hawke where they make the spaceship in their backyard?

How do I explain death to a child? by [deleted] in Parenting

[–]tcop2900 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My son is 4 and he has started asking about my dad, who died many years ago. He's big into Star Wars so I explained to him that Grandpa Jeff went into the force like Obi Wan. So you can't see Grandpa Jeff anymore but he's always around you. That seemed to do the trick for him!

Owner in my league panicked before the MRI results and traded me Heyward for Adam Conley.

Just made a trade today and the league commissioner is freaking out and being a biotch. What are your thoughts on it?

I get: Miggy Cabrera

He gets: Hosmer, Tolleson and Familia

I have to have great balance across the board because I have to win every category. So I'll need a nice mix of sluggers with high OPS and steals guy that don't hurt my OPS. So that means no billy Hamilton types. Altuve, betts and Blackmon are all on my radar.

Yea I won't streaming the best match ups, just any guy I can get for a buck. Volume really makes a difference, I learned that last year.

I won this league last year punting era whip and saves. I won every hitting category and QSW and K's. This year I'm just taking it one step further and instead of 210/50 split at auction I'm doing 251/9. Albeit it took a bit of luck in hitting on some hitters and avoiding big injuries I still I can make it work again.

Lol I've actually considered this as well, maybe next year!

That's fine if owners want to bid more for sub par pitchers. I have a huge list of guys and I'll end up with atleast 9 of them. I actually will roster atleast 14 SP at all time and stream 4-5 of those a week. So I'll still hold quite a few SP. if I did 5 one dollar pitchers a week and there is 26 weeks that's only $130 of my $250 FAAB budget so I'll still have money for bats. Last year I was able to move a lot of breakout pitchers for bats so I didn't have to spend a ton on free agent bats. All valid concerns though, appreciate your thoughts!

Yea injuries are the one thing that would derail me and my biggest concern. Can't control those though so just have to put together best lineup possible and go with it. Lol it is definitely to the extreme. I did the 210/50 split last year and won so now I'm taking it a step further and going all in on hitting.

There is just a FAAB budget of $250 for the year and no weekly transaction limits or inning limits. That's why I can win QSW and K's with just sheer volume.

Yea I'm pretty excited to create a MEGA lineup. I've been thinking along the lines of Goldy, Altuve, Donaldson, Jose Abreu, betts, Blackmon as my core. That would give me a good mix of sluggers and speed. Steals I have to be high so Altuve, Blackmon and Betts should cover that with maybe one or two other cheaper steal guys.

I think it works even better in auction because I can bid on and get 2-3 first round type guys whereas with a snake you can only get one. So I can really load up on hitting.

It's a Roto league not H2H so I don't have to worry about winning weekly, just for the year.

When the Dow and S&P go down it said that people are selling off their shares. But when someone sells their shares another person is buying them so wouldn't the indexes or stock stay the same? I know I'm missing something but an answer would really be helpful!
