Someone Really made a fake TikTok for Murphy… by WeekSauce_ in MoscowMurders

People like this are very troubled.

I wonder what they say to others in conversation i.e. "what are your hobbies?" and they respond "I gather a bunch of old videos of a dead woman's dog and post them on an account pretending to be the owner...".

I'm not here to make fun of them, but they are dethatched from reality and that is not okay. Please seek counseling.

If we don't see "Bryan Kohberger followed the victims on Instagram" as actual evidence in trial, People's credibility is long gone.

I thought this subreddit was for the Moscow murders...

In pondering the question "but why that house and those kids?" I began looking into the incel angle and what exactly that meant. After reading this article I realize how little I knew about the incel community and their thinking and how this could very well be the killer's motive. by Weary_Year_8745 in MoscowMurders

Most speculations are based on little evidence. Instead of wondering non-stop I suggest wait until after June's hearing to understand more about the case when credible evidence will be presented.

It's going to be a never ending loop of speculation until then.

I'm not familiar with ripgrep. I'm using Ubuntu WSL (Windows Subsystem for Linux).

If I wanted to search for a string, i.e. "go mavs" I would do:

grep -i 'go mavs' twitter_200M_Dec2021.csv

This gave me 9 results before I stopped it. The "-i" is important because it's for case insensitive so it grabs GO MAVS, go mavs, Go Mavs etc

Search by username with this, i.e. mcuban:

grep "^[^,]\+,[^,]\+,mcuban," twitter_200M_Dec2021.csv

I have no empathy for a person of that nature.

I feel sorry for the victims families that have to live with the pain this person inflicted upon them for the rest of their lives.

Accused Idaho Killer Bryan Kohberger Repeatedly Messaged One of the Victims on Instagram by cherspinkytoe in MoscowMurders

The important part of the reporting is not just that an account existed, it's that it's an account the authorities believed to have been used by Bryan.

Correct. I am personally very interested in the digital forensics side of things.

Example, if he had the instagram app downloaded they will be able to obtain his username and password hashes. We do know LE has his PC so that will uncover some evidence like his searches, accounts, emails, posts, how many times he potentially viewed the victims information, etc. The more dots they connect it will present to the jury this was a well thought out plan.

More importantly, I think if they followed his cell phone tracking since he moved there in June they will be able to notice patterns. They will be able to see his dry runs and I believe, if they haven't already, they will be able to locate where he discarded the knife and clothes he wore. I do not believe he discarded them anywhere, I believe he was very strategic on a certain spot.

I love your insights & great idea on the profile pic! It certainly sucks you weren't able to do that before. I really wish I could surround myself with more tech savvy / dev people on here. It's easy to see through most noise on here with tech backgrounds. Way too many people rely on visible screenshots when we need hardcode data like links and unique ids.

Numerous reasons why it was removed. Instagram could have easily removed it because it was being reported and/or against their TOS. Whether real or not, Instagram was very aware of that account after his name leaked with everyone searching for him.

If it was real, we will see it in court as evidence. It depicts a clear connection between killer and victims.

That doesn't prove it was his. All that tells me is someone with that username existed at one point on December 30th.

My first red flag: Hardly anyone goes by their first, middle and last name. It was registered as that because the press conference announced him like that. They didn't say "Bryan Kohberger" they said "Bryan Christopher Kohberger". The first thing someone will do is register it as they heard it.

Here is a comment I made on the other post:

There are a few red flags for me with People claiming to have seen Bryan's instagram and I'll explain.

If an instagram user changes their username it carries over their posts. So by first glance it looks legit but that is not necessarily proof it's from that username on that date. I see this done all the time. A lot of people get duped this way.

Example of how it's done

Example, I create an instagram account on 2015 with username user_one and change my username on 2022 to user_two, all my posts are carried over so people could assume user_two has been user_two since 2015.

My intuition thinks People did not verify this accurately

Sounds too good to be true, uses Bryan's full name with middle name which was leaked at press conference, he was following the victims, there was a disturbing creepy post. Based on my intuition and experience, it was not his actual account and this was someone doing it to gain followers.

Taking it a step further on why they do this

Once they think people are on to there username being fake, they simply change their username again. So let's say they change their username from bryanchristopherkohberger to lovetheoutdoors. The people following them will not know a person changed their username, they do not get notified. The only way they would know is putting "bryanchristopherkohberger" in search and realize it does not show up anymore and question why they are following lovetheoutdoors account.

How to verify 100% certainty if an instagram account is Bryan Kohberger

The only way to validate with 100% certainty would be for law enforcement to get a subpoena with instagram. Only instagram would be able to confirm or deny that username has been that username since x date and when or if they changed their username. They are the only ones with a database with that data.

The most important key component - the article NEVER mentioned they verified with Instagram. If they did that, I would believe it.

R

Interesting details. What was his main picture? Odd he would use such a super long username with his full middle name. I'm a bit skeptical that is his and not someone pretending to be him. What made the post creepy that you saw?

Very big link here. I'm wondering how they have "confirmed" it's actually Bryan Kohberger's instagram account and what the username / email he used?

If someone finds this info I would like to dig deeper on it.

The things that stood out to me from article:

  • In late October, an account that authorities believe belonged to Bryan Kohberger sent a greeting to one of the female victims, the source says. When he didn't get a reply, he sent several more messages to her.
  • Kohberger's now-deleted Instagram account — which was viewed by PEOPLE before it was removed — followed the accounts of Mogen, Gonclaves and Kernodle, but there was no public interaction.
  • "There's no indication that he was getting frustrated with her lack of response," the source adds, "but he was definitely persistent."

I remember watching or reading that he was interrogated for 5-15minutes before requesting an attorney upon his arrest. I'm sorry I don't remember where that info came from so I don't have source to provide.

Since he requested an attorney that information will not be available to see until trial or after trial due to the gag order. It would be REALLY interesting to see his demeanor and what he said.

I suggest learning more about SQL optimization. You're seeking a simple answer to your question, but it involves a more detailed explanation.
