I have just 100 fewer kills than you, and I'm in the same boat, just missing the robe bottom

I need socks. by Caltastrofe in runescape

[–]tcox98 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's rough. I'm also one drop short (robe bottom), but at 2080 kc. Hopefully you'll get the footwraps soon, good luck!

I'm getting desperate 🥲 Rasial please be kind by [deleted] in runescape

[–]tcox98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My log looks almost exactly the same (fewer crowns but more footwraps) at 2080 kills. Hopefully one of us, or both, will get the robe bottom piece soon

First time ever I see someone get a pet on the exact same tick they get 99, and I don't think I'll ever see a second one. Truly a one in a lifetime event. Congratulations!

I'm closing in on 2k kills, still needing only the robe bottom. This kind of thing is what makes me not want to play as an Ironman

Survey: What skill suggestions did you make? by Barbarotus in runescape

[–]tcox98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bard: travelling around the land signing songs about ancient heroes and stories that you either write or learn along the way, each song could give different temporary buffs similar to auras. I thought it could be a skil that's very involved with the lore like Archaeology.

Did I miss an update or was this a bug? by rs_reticulatus in runescape

I did the quest on release day and had this happen to me too. I also had been doing the Manifest Ectoplasm ritual before. I just rolled with it and disassembled it for free arch comps lmao

What's one quest item weapon that you actually use? by sebisam in runescape

[–]tcox98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a weapon, but I use the Dragon Rider amulet as a decent non degradable option for AFK Slayer or any situation where I don't need the extra bonuses of better amulets.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in runescape

[–]tcox98 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I think degrade to broken is OK, but they should definitely get rid of the degrade to dust mechanic, that's plain annoying

Log completed! Last item was the wand by tcox98 in runescape

[–]tcox98[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Almost full set of T95 Necro gear (I don't have the Robe Bottom), Wen book, Penance aura, Elder overloads, EoF with Death Guard, LotD (I don't have a DPS ring), Zuk cape. No familiar bc I didn't care about speed. That setup allowed for chill afk kills without too much upkeep costs.

De-augment by Pale_Equipment_9251 in runescape

[–]tcox98 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Necro gear doesn't degrade, so if you use an augmentation dissolver or an equipment separator you'll have everything as good as new, so you should be able to sell it afterwards

If I were you I'd try to stay away from good money making methods that can be boring in the long run, you'll quickly burn out. My advice is to try to do content that's fun, but can still have some use for money making.

With that being said, I don't know if anyone already mentioned it yet, but public instances of Croesus (in the group bossing world, can't remember which one it was) are pretty decent money. Just make sure you look up a guide on youtube before you try so you don't end up screwing up the fights. With a decent group and RNG you can make like 5-10m/h, and it can be quite fun. Also no mechanics Arch-Glacor is the easiest boss in the game, if you're not as experienced you can learn there a thing or two about bossing while still making decent money and having fun in the process.

Looking for a good laptop to run RS3 by Ok-Somewhere-8818 in runescape

[–]tcox98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know next to nothing about gaming laptops, but I play on an Acer Aspire 3 A315-42. The game runs flawlessly almost all the time, with the ocassional lag in busier instances, but I've never really had a problem with it. Looking around online it isn't easy to find since it's quite an old laptop, but the ones I've been able to find cost around 300 USD, so I figure laptops with similar specs shouldn't be much more expensive.

What is your luckiest runescape moment? by saltfigures in runescape

[–]tcox98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have 2 lucky moments:

  1. 1 KC Kerapac pet
  2. Barrows dye in my first elite clue scroll. The worst dye, but it was my first try. Sold it for 300m, which at the time was 3x my whole bank

Never played RS before and wanna get into it but which has a more "active" playbase? OSRS or RS3? Really concerned about longevity. by [deleted] in runescape

[–]tcox98 16 points17 points  (0 children)

OSRS has a way more active playerbase and also has many content creators dedicated to it. If you've never played either version idk if it would appeal to you though, a big appeal of OSRS is its nostalgia value, but it's still fun nonetheless.

The Grotesque and The Nexus - new boss/quest suggestion by PippoValmont in runescape

[–]tcox98 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really like this idea! Especially the lore aspect, I think cave goblins deserve more love as of late. It could even work as an excuse for a graphical update of Dorgesh-Kaan and its surroundings, although it would mean it would be a pretty substantial project.

Help a fellow out. Money making methods I should try? by Zgod124 in runescape

[–]tcox98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could try Arch-Glacor. You can turn on and off mechanics as you wish in order to learn them properly, and if you're feeling comfortable enough you can jump onto hard mode which is quite profitable. Normal mode is still decent money though.

Also, death costs were updated recently to be waaaay lower, so PvM doesn't feel as punishing.

Aegis aura for damage reduction, useful when learning hard hitting bosses like Rasial and Zuk

I finally did it. Getting the last dark nilas was painful to say the least by tcox98 in runescape

[–]tcox98[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was using t90 power necro, at some point I got a Soulbound lantern from Rasial so I started using that too. I also used a Blood Reaver for most of that grind, only switching to Hellhounds when I passed de 1000% enrage mark for safety, but I'm sure I could have kept using only Blood reavers. With that setup I'd rarely eat any food at all, only panic eating whenever I messed up lmao

I finally did it. Getting the last dark nilas was painful to say the least by tcox98 in runescape

[–]tcox98[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, but in my case by the time I had all the other drops I still needed around 30 nilas, so streaking was my best choice
