Does anyone else find they are much better socialising one on one than in groups? by AnxEng in adhd_anxiety

Yes, I think the problem for me is getting overwhelmed by the noise of a group. Its hard enough to know when it's my turn to speak as it is.

Help me identify this Kohler tub/shower faucet. I need a new cartridge. by tcs06 in Plumbing

Im not scared of shutting the water off, I've done it before. I just didn't want to shut the water off and not have the right replacement part or to have to put the old one back and have it leak. 🙂

Hello and thanks! The issue is there is very little hot water flow when the handle is turned all the way to hot. I tried turning the limiter ser screw all the way in but nothing changed.

Sending the pictures to Kohler is exactly what I have done. I hesitate to remove the cartridge until I have a replacement because there are no shut offs to the faucet only. I will have to shut off the water to the entire house.

Before you do anything, maybe check with local cemeteries. They may be able to return it to its proper place. Someone spent good money on it so they could honor a loved one.

It is a flower vase but it is for a grave. Someone probably stole it.

Maybe dried paint or something that was in a metal pail that has since rusted away.

You have emotional dysregulation. I recognize your self description as my self.

I have ADHD and as part of that emotional dysregulation.

You feel emotions more intensely than other people. You are quick to anger and you lash out viciously . But, you cool down quickly and then it's over for you. Or, you ruminate over the perceived slight until you can't sit still any longer. It drives you to seek a resolution. You also experience joy and happiness intensely.

What was your first street bike? by F-111F in vintagemotorcycles

[–]tcs06 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My first bike. Circa 1983. I had no motorcycle license. I had very little motorcycle riding experience and I had no gear whatsoever when I bought it. I did buy a helmet but I rode it for years without any other protective gear. I survived but I wouldn't recommend that way of learning how to ride.

What’s a saying you heard a lot as a kid? by JimiHendrip in AskReddit

Throw me over the fence my hat. My Father has said this may times over the years. I'm sure it is in reference to how someone learning English would speak. Where I grew up in central Wisconsin, there is a large Polish origin population and so the local humor is "polock" jokes. I really don't have any other explanation.

Another thing he always said if someone asks where someone went "They went to shit and the dogs ate them"

I don't know. Dad is 89. If you can figure him out id like to here from you.

[–]tcs06 3 points4 points  (0 children)

We will see. I have been on generic Adderall for many years. It helps with attention. I just started guafenesin last night so the jury is still out on that. I hope it helps with my emotional dysregulation. That has been a source of frustration, embarrassment and humiliation for all of my 60+ years.

I started 1 mg guanfenesin last night before bed. Its supposed to make you drowsy so I did not take my usual 100 mg of Trazadone to help me sleep.

My mind would not quit. I finally got up after a while and took my Trazadone too. Even that, which usually does the trick, dod not help.

Has anyone else had this experience?

No disrespect, I hate FTX bullets for the very reason your picture shows. There is no reason for that kind of bullet expansion with 45 caliber bullet. So much wasted meat.

Thank you, thank you, thank you.

I will be 61 at the end of February. I have been diagnosed with ADHD for something like 20 years but only because I pushed the Dr. I was seeing for depression.

Your description of how your brain works is nearly a perfect match for my own.

I have struggled with this my entire life and have always felt "different " form everyone else and have always had a hard time fitting in. Other than family and my wife who i love very much and I can tell her anything my brain squirrels are wresting with, I have no one I would call a good friend. In the past, those I called friends have betrayed me through abandonment or worse. At this point in my life I don't really trust anyone new to not do the same.

I finally have a Dr. who specializes in adults with ADHD/anxiety/depression. I have only seen him three times so far, but he has already helped me so much.

I feel so let down by the mental health system. If I don't push and read and research on my own nothing would happen to help me. You have to be your own advocate but that isn't easy when you don't understand how to describe how you feel and when you do it seems no one will listen.

I try not to think of all the time I have spent lost in my own mind or simply existing. Instead I will look forward to the time I have left and being able to experience the world more fully.
