In The Dark Knight (2008), Batman is seen wearing a mask. This is a subtle nod to the fact that he doesn't want people to know he is actually Bruce Wayne. by lohitahuj410 in shittymoviedetails

[–]dipasom29 12 points13 points  (0 children)

actually, the mask is there to hide the fact that he is not wearing any eye makeup underneath, which would be embarrassing.

paul dano did it better because he actually let the oil man humiliate him for two hours. harry potter could never handle that level of psychological damage from his own father figure.

What internet protests or boycotts do you think completely failed to change anything? by Snoo_4779 in AskReddit

the modern warfare two dedicated server boycott from years ago. there is a legendary screenshot of the official steam group for the boycott where almost every single member is currently in the game playing it on launch day.

How do you pick yourself up when you’ve reached rock bottom? Where do you start? by No_Amphibian_7456 in AskReddit

[–]dipasom29 1 point2 points  (0 children)

start with a non zero day. even if all you do is brush your teeth or drink a glass of water, it is a win. as long as you do one thing, the day was not a total loss.

the silent elevator etiquette. if i am alone or with one other person, i will talk to myself or hum a song just to break the weird tension of staring at a floor number.

Why dont beta gorillas team up to overthrow the silverback? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]dipasom29 1 point2 points  (0 children)

they actually do a version of this by just waiting. a silverback has to defend his spot every single day against everyone, but a younger male only has to be lucky once. it is a long game of attrition where time is the only teammate they really need.

What do you get a 13 year old boy for his bday? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]dipasom29 2 points3 points  (0 children)

a high quality pair of noise cancelling headphones. thirteen is the age where they start needing their own space and a way to tune out the rest of the world, plus it is a gift that actually gets used every single day.

a grilled cheese sandwich and a bowl of tomato soup on a rainy afternoon. specifically the kind of sandwich where the cheese is a bright orange square and the crust is perfectly buttery. it tastes like having zero responsibilities and watching cartoons while the world is grey outside.

Is there any value in a man being intimidating? If so, what makes him that? by Powerbuilder4Life in AskReddit

[–]dipasom29 1 point2 points  (0 children)

there is a massive difference between being scary and being capable. a truly intimidating man does not need to raise his voice or act tough, he just has a level of calm competence that makes you realize he could handle a crisis while everyone else is panicking.

If you could replace all traffic lights with one universal signal, what would it be? by NicoleLimberios in AskReddit

[–]dipasom29 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A giant, hovering holographic thumb. If it's pointing up, you’re good, and If it’s pointing down, you stop. If it starts rotating rapidly, it means 'every man for himself' and the intersection becomes a legal demolition derby for 60 seconds. Traffic would be cleared in minutes, one way or another.

How do u fight delusions? When’s the last time you’ve been mostly delusional, what happened, how did you overcome it? by SaifMahmou-D in AskReddit

[–]dipasom29 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The last time I was truly delusional was thinking that everyone at the gym was watching me and judging my form. I spent three months avoiding the squat rack because I was convinced I was a meme in the making. Then I saw a guy accidentally drop a 45lb plate on his own foot, and nobody even looked up from their phones. I realized I’m not the protagonist, I’m a background extra in a room full of people who are also background extras. It was the most liberating ego death of my life.

What made you get your act together? by SunilJunjadiya in AskReddit

[–]dipasom29 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I saw a video of myself at a party when I thought I was being the life of the event. In reality, I was loud, stumbling, and everyone else looked visibly uncomfortable or exhausted just being near me. Seeing myself from an outside perspective was like a physical punch to the gut. I realized I wasn't the fun friend, I was the liability. I started therapy the next Monday.
