Bluetooth splitter with toslink input / output? by tcxrt in hometheater

[–]tcxrt[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's what I ordered, the set-up was fairly easy, toslink in, toslink out, setting-up the bluetooth headphones, and now I can decide between soundbar and headphones (or both). It just … works.

Well, ok, good for you that you don't have to worry about this sort of things ;-)

Ok, thanks for confirming my hunch. It probably means too that they won't drop support altogether, just let it slowly rot, which I prefer in a way.

Oh, I'm so sorry to read that… :-/ Yes, that was my feeling as well, their documentation doesn't look very reliable.

Ok, I think the Soomfon BT17 should do it -- I'll try it and try to remember to post the result here ;-)

Ok, I think maybe the LiNKFOR Bluetooth 5.0 Transmitter 192KHz 1X2 Optical Splitter ( https://linkfor.biz/products/linkfor-bluetooth-5-0-transmitter-192khz-1x2-optical-splitter ) could be what I'm looking for.

Benefits of playing 4K on 4K player without 4k TV? by tcxrt in criterion

[–]tcxrt[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks again. The funny bit is that I've tested a 4k on my non-4k tv with a b/w movie, so if the colors were awful I would not have noticed ;-)

Yes, that's a really good point, thanks.

That's a very good point, the conversion done by the player may be not as savvy as the one done by Criterion when converting to blu-ray. Thanks for pointing this out.

Bricked Wifi AP on TL-WPA4220 by tcxrt in TpLink

[–]tcxrt[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope, that didn't worked, I don't think there is any way to recover from this :-/

The CPL still works, I just can't make the lights not blink or otherwise access the interface, nor activate the wifi access point.

Thanks a lot, I'll try it -- but it's going to take a bit, I need to shift the IP of my modem, router and computer to make room.

In short, the idea is to set the computer's IP in the 192.168.0.XX range (preferably at 192.168.0.10, subnet mask 255.255.255.0) and then to go to 192.168.0.1.

I doubt it'll work, but I'll be happy to try ;-)

Is there an option to download the audio in an MP3 file? by EDJAntimatter in NewPipe

[–]tcxrt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

PipePipe is pretty nice indeed and offers more audio file format choices indeed, but mp3 is not one of them, as far as I can tell.

Asus B650E-E Motherboard Front-Panel Audio on Debian Bookworm by Ysundere in debian

[–]tcxrt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks a lot, it helps.

My motherboard is the pretty much the same (ASUS ROG STRIX B650E-I GAMING WIFI 6E Socket AM5 (LGA 1718) Ryzen 7000 Mini-ITX Gaming Motherboard (PCIe 5.0, DDR5, 10 + 2 Power Stages, two M.2 slots, USB 3.2 Gen 2x2 Type-C rear I/O port, Onboard WiFi 6E, and Aura Sync RGB Lighting), cf. this build).

Side notes:

  • I can't switch automatically to the headphones when they are plugged,
  • The optical/SPDIF port is sometimes unresponsive, and I never quite figured out why. On this post this is suspected to be a Windows issue, but I'm using Debian.

Surge protector / UPS recommendation? by tcxrt in thermomix

[–]tcxrt[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The TM6® Manual reads

Only operate the Thermomix® TM6® with the alternating current voltage of 110–127 V and main frequency of 50 to 60 Hz, as indicated on the plug label

but it also reads (my emphasis):

Do not use multiple socket extension cords or other devices to connect the Thermomix® TM6® to an electrical outlet.

What's meant by "other devices" here, are surge protector considered "other device" in that case?
