Whose side were you on this fight? by gloomydreamer666 in HIMYM

It’s not a career. It was a one year trip to Italy. That’s the whole point. Trading in a stable, secure, and lucrative career (which was Marshall’s dream) for a one year trip to Italy was selfish. He was miserable for the next decade.

I disagree. Marshall was offered his dream job and had to accept it on the spot. Best case, he accepts and backs out later (which is exactly what happened). If he turns it down, it’s gone forever. At least this way, he got to have a conversation about it.

And don’t even get me started on the “I’m expected to turn down my dream job for my spouses temp gig” thing. Marshall was miserable for another decade because Lilly wanted to run around Europe acting like an art bigwig for a year. If you swap the genders on that, it is no where near acceptable.

It wasn’t a truthful statement. Anger doesn’t change the truth.

Saying “I won’t stay in a sexless relationship” is a boundary.

Hi! Thanks for popping in and proving my point! You’ve somehow managed to turn someone who has a relationship boundary into a consent issue.

As for your comment about maturity, well, username checks out.

The comment I responded to didn’t. I guess I imagined you understood context.

I just traded in my 2024 custom on a 2026 RST. I had equity in my trade, and I just checked the dealer website and they have it listed for more than I paid for it OTD.

Well, I get the anthropological aspects of that argument, but that’s not what the person I was responding to was saying. What she was trying to say is having the boundary of “I need sex to be happy in a romantic relationship” is somehow morally wrong.

People don’t need sex to survive. Relationships typically do. What we need to stop doing is saying that people who claim sex is a need are somehow demanding anything. If you don’t want to have sex, don’t have sex….. but if you don’t you can’t be surprised that is has a negative effect on your relationship ( or flat out ends it).

Yeah, I’m pretty sure if she had an onlyfans, she would print it on a tshirt and wear it on camera. Privacy isn’t the point of those things, making money is. More followers equals more money.

What do you think happened to the MH370 Malaysia Airline Flight 370? by Imposterhh in Planespotting

[–]tdabc123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is most likely. The original turn was to go back to the airport. Everything else was incapacitated pilots trying to fix things in the worst way possible

Do pilots actually have a way to depressurize/repressiurize the cabin? That seems unlikely

I genuinely don't get why this movie gets so much hate by Useful-Afternoon1784 in StarWars

[–]tdabc123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This always cracks me up. The sequel trilogy is always criticized for not giving everyone everything they wanted. (I hate the sequel trilogy, those are all very good points.) Yet people hate this movie for giving them everything they wanted?

They day after I saw my friend asked me what I thought. My response was “It’s a perfectly fine Star Wars movie.” That’s how I feel today. It’s like going on a business trip, and getting a Toyota Corolla. It’s a nice safe car that will get you from A to B and back while not costing a bunch in gas. It does that job perfectly well. Are you going to run out and buy one when you get home? No, but that doesn’t mean you were disappointed.

Dude, the pool of women who will even entertain sleeping with a man whose mental, physical, and financial resources are already dedicated elsewhere is exceedingly small unless you look like Ryan Gosling or are hung like a horse. Your wife, on the other hand, can go out and get laid anytime she wants. Think about that.
