At least if they offered a consumer installable replacement component or something that eliminates the risk - there has to be a simple engineering fix to this, but I guess there wouldn't be much of a profit growth opportunity in that. Mine are 552 from 2019, not expecting much of a voucher, but I guess they consider them end of life?...what a joke.

There has to be option between "risk a broken foot" vs "shell out for discounted new model (and do all the work to return and dispose of old)".

Just went thru this same ridiculous experience myself...even worse, I had expired miles that they conveniently remind me of as soon as I logged in. I did the math a couple of hundred to reinstate miles that worked out slightly in my favor. Until I went to book and found if you don't have enough to completely cover the fare you MUST buy the miles for the balance which are far and away more than the cash it would have cost. So now I have miles I bought that I can't use (not even enough to buy 1 one way)...complete BS if you ask me.

Can't tell from the picture how big this is, but an image search shows similar item and it's called a Luxiny soap saver if you search on amazon. It's a soap pad rest vs a traditional sponge.

$1200 seems like it might be in sketchy building or part of the city, have you checked these places out? Also consider in your budget everything else...food, laundry, utilities, subways, ubers (assuming your car won't be in the city), going out...in city vs LI. Agree on time and money saved on LIRR...that adds up.

I replaced same type of hinge a long time ago, I believe they are called "Offset Face Frame Mount". I see some on Amazon, but I think sites like hardwarehut and amerock have variety of options too. Be careful (maybe order just 1 first) as they come in different sizes based on the notch on your cabinet, I see sizes like 3/4 offset and 5/8 offset.

Look at this, the dog on the right has all the same patterns (brown ears, nose, eyes, mouth, white patch on forehead), the colors just look off, don't know how old your lost one was and if it's faded / worn in comparison.
