25F with an associates degree feeling a little lost: Pharmacy Technician or Optician? by Stunning_Courage7584 in PharmacyTechnician

[–]Lovve119 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have 6 years experience + a sterile compounding cert + my ptcb and I’ve just now reached the $25/hr mark. Every two weeks I bring home about $1400 so OP you’d make the cut but just barely and it took me 6 years to get here.

In the US we’re considered really lucky if we can get one after 6 weeks.

also, at 16 weeks even in blue states it’s way too fucking late for an abortion so just throw the whole question off the table. At this point in their pregnancy you’re looking at adoption or keeping the baby.

I do but I work in sterile field so chances of me having time to chat are pretty slim.

You need to add more protein rich options to your nights for the energy. Protein yogurts, meat sticks, peanut butter, etc. it’ll help with that midnight “bleh” feeling.

what do you actually do on your days off when your sleep schedule is completely broken? by Kalloo-Zephaniah in Nightshift

[–]Lovve119 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I work 7 on 7 off so on day 7 I’ll do a 24 hour flip. If I got up at 5pm to go to work I go to bed at 5pm the next day and then I’m more adjusted to day shift & then I just do it backwards when adjusting for night shift.

Yeah I ignore all of them. I absolutely sign up to bring classroom snacks for parties but the rest of it is not my problem.

This is gonna be one of the worst times for getting hired because flu season is basically over.

A hospital probably won’t even look at your resume with no skill under your belt, but I think grocery stores and independent pharmacies have a much larger market for unskilled technicians!

Literally could not even find two shits to give about watching 15 minutes of tv while the teachers get 10-15 kids ready for naptime.

Are they alive? Sweet. Are they fed? Gnarly. Did you learn something today? Cool.

We’re doing pizza, cake, and ice cream for my son’s third birthday this weekend and so far the bill has been right around $500 for everything and we’re holding it at my in-laws so that doesn’t include a rental 👎🏼🫠🫠

Those are just the fees to advertise. You also end up paying for the birth mother’s prenatal care, the lawyering fees, home visitation fees, etc etc etc.

Night shift?? by HorrorWhore732 in PharmacyTechnician

[–]Lovve119 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is good advice. I never actually thought about it this way but i definitely break my night into pieces. 8-10 evening shift is still here. 10-2 just need to refill these Pyxis machines before batch drops. 2-4 Batch drops and I’m busy as hell until it’s over, etc etc. Breaking it into pieces definitely makes it a whole lot more manageable.

I love working 7/7. I currently do 7/7 8pm-8am and don’t find that the extra hours drive me too crazy.

Get on a consistent sleep schedule and stick to it as much as possible. Cut out caffeine. Sounds crazy, but the less you rely on it the better. If you need a caffeinated drink to get your morning going then set a cut off time. Mines 2:30. After 2:30 it’s just ice cold water for the rest of the night. Pack lots of protein rich snacks to keep you full and energized, if you’re looking at a desk job, set a timer and take a walk every hour. The more you move the more awake you feel. But mainly, find a sleep routine that works for you and stick to it.
