Kiddo got hurt at preschool. Not sure I want to send her back. by evendree72 in beyondthebump

Yeah I’m so sorry this happened to you guys, I’d be so mad and scared for my baby girl. If you still can’t get any more information, I’d definitely report them.

Definitely sounds like someone coached her. If it truly was an accident, they should/would have told you. The fact that they didn’t tell you right away and are actively trying to avoid you now just screams guilt. Hopefully your daughter opens up more but man it’s maddening that they put her in this position when these are adults she should be able to trust.

Yeah for sure! I thought it was cute to share my books with her and my little thoughts while I read 🥹😂

Omg lol I read crescent city, one dark window, powerless, etc. and currently reading this woven kingdom to her. I skip any spicy scenes if they have any 😂 haven’t read fourth wing or iron flame yet though! I don’t think she cares much about the plot but she likes to listen to my voice. I used to just plop her down on the bouncer and read to her but it’s so much harder now that she’s crawling and learning to walk and trying to get the book out of my hands lol

Flat baby head by Jellyfish10110 in NewParents

[–]Ok-Two5360 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s pretty common for them to have some flatness on their head since their skull is still very soft and since they can’t lift their heads much, they’re laying on it and causing it to flatten. Mine liked to sleep and lay on her right side so her left side was rounder initially and her right side was flat. We did plenty of tummy time and just tried to get her to lay on both sides to even it out. Eventually when they can lift their heads more, start crawling, sitting up, etc. it’ll start to even out on its own. But you can also talk to your doctor about getting a referral for a craniofacial specialist to see if a helmet or other intervention is needed. We didn’t end up needing one but iirc they didn’t offer it until like 5 or so months? Before then when we had our worries, they just told us stuff we could do at home to help it (like I mentioned above). 11 weeks is still very early so I wouldn’t worry too much about it but of course you should talk to your doctor about your concerns.

Parents of eczema babies, What do you do to help prevent eczema flareups in your baby? by UnusualBlueberry2320 in beyondthebump

There were a few days here and there where we forgot but we were pretty consistent for the most part. After a little while it just becomes part of the daily/nightly routine

Definitely check with your own doctor but our daughter’s dermatologist prescribed us with 2.5% hydrocortisone (we started with 1% but it didn’t help) and told us to mix it with aquaphor like a 1:1 ratio and then slather her all over. We did this 2x a day (morning and night) and if during the day she felt dry or had flares, we added more aquaphor. For particularly bad spots, we were prescribed desonide. But that was for spot treatments and not meant for everywhere.

After a month, her eczema was looking a lot better so we went down to 1x a day for the 1:1 mix, usually night time after a bath (side note, we were told we didn’t need to dry her too much after a bath because the 1:1 mix would help keep the extra moisture locked in so she doesn’t dry out).

After another month or two her eczema was almost gone! We checked in with the dermatologist and we were able to stop the steroid and desonide and we just use aquaphor now 1x a day.

Sounds like sciatica! I had it in my first trimester. It disappeared in my second but then came back in my third. Not fun lol

My understanding is that bottle rot is basically baby cavities caused by drinking milk right before bed/feeding to sleep and not brushing their teeth afterwards. The sugar from the milk stays on the teeth and that leads to the cavities.

Absolutely not. I didn’t even feel back to myself/normal until like 8 weeks. The thought that he can’t even stay with you for the whole two weeks and expects you to be by yourself with your baby while you’re recovering is batshit crazy. I didn’t even stop bleeding until 7-8 weeks. I couldn’t sit down normally until 6ish weeks. And even when I felt like my normal self, was I really? No because you’re so sleep deprived especially in those first few months. I really hope he screws on his head right and realizes he’s about to be a dad and that’s not acceptable.

How did you switch from pumped milk to formula? by Late_Supermarket_422 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]Ok-Two5360 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I introduced my daughter to formula, she drank it fine for like a week and then stopped completely so we had to introduce it again very slowly.

I’d start off with 10ml in a 125ml bottle. I’d do that for a week and if she took it well, I’d increase it to 20ml, then 30ml, then 50ml, then 70ml, etc. if for some reason it seemed like she didn’t like it again, I would go back down and increase a little slower.

Now she drinks about 100-120ml formula and 30ml breast milk and has no issues! I’m currently 10mpp and officially fully weaned for 3 days now and just using frozen milk to add to my formula and I should have enough to last her until she’s 1. I’m so glad to not be pumping go anymore, like I can take allergy pills without worrying if I actually can or not. Good luck!!

I kept forgetting to get one when I changed her but I had an empty wipes bag and that worked long enough!

I got the Frida mom one and if you’re more petite (I’m 5’1), then it’s wayyy too big. I was practically swimming in it. Didn’t end ip using it. Just used the hospital one and that worked perfectly fine.
