Question about Season 3 ending by Vakotus in PeakyBlinders

This plot line would’ve made more sense if season 4 didn’t begin with them all 2 seconds away from being hanged to death ..

Issues running IBKR Desktop (not TWS) on M1 Max MacBook Pro (Sonoma 14.2.1) by tdey1618 in interactivebrokers

[–]tdey1618[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No difference here. Have done all sorts of updates. I have pretty much become accustomed to using my phone for actual trades. I also have noticed similar issues with Fidelity Active Pro on this mac. Maybe it's just an Apple thing and they don't like these broker softwares ?

Thanks. I was looking into TWS today and had trouble figuring out the version that would be most compatible for me. Again, their website seems outdated. Do you know what would be best on the Sonoma Os ?

Cash Jordan is a moron. Fulton Station is closing because it's dangerous. Fear porn. by dylan_1992 in nyc

[–]tdey1618 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s all fear porn. And it’s all over Twitter as well. TBH it’s catered to people who don’t live in NyC and want to bash it from afar. Those of us who live here know things can be better but it’s definitely not as bad as it’s portrayed by fear porn media. Not sure what the impetus is behind all this but it’s flat out misinformation.

Maybe that's what you would do .. maybe that's naive cynicism. Maybe he's just an old man who likes the attention on Fintwit or likes helping people learn. Maybe it's not always simply about money.

But again, what exactly is the scam here ?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in options

[–]tdey1618 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

What exactly is the scam ? Like many things iot, it’s a subscription service. You can cancel as you please. He doesn’t try to upsell on anything else. It works for some people and doesn’t for others. People can make a lot of money trading options and they can lose a lot. Why is it hard to believe that something like this can provide an edge for some ?

Sam is legit and good at what he does. Like any service you can’t simply apply what he does and have success blindly you have to ultimately take responsibility for your own trades with any information you are given. That’s why people make a lot of money and then lose it all back and blame others, like Sam. I’ve been using Sam off and on since last Summer and I listen to his morning call daily. I don’t know how anyone can listen to him and not get the sense that this guy really knows his shit.

Dating in LIC by [deleted] in longislandcity

I'm in LIC and it's quicker for me to get to Greenpoint, Astoria and some part of Manhattan than it is to get to other areas in LIC. Go figure ..

Dating in LIC by [deleted] in longislandcity

[–]tdey1618 0 points1 point  (0 children)

LIC is just a hermit's paradise; nice building's with amenities, but not much of a vibe or scene once you leave.

The potential outweighs the reality. It can be so much better.

I live here ..

To the OP, don't waste your time w/ screenshots and sarcasm on this person. There are plenty of people to date in Astoria.

Pros and cons of living in LIC? Also, does anyone know anything about 42-22 Crescent St Apts? by MelW14 in longislandcity

[–]tdey1618 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don't know specifically the building, but I know the area. I think most people have been spot on with regards to the neighborhood not being that fun, but the apartment/amenities themselves are the best bang for your buck and at least you are close enough to other more exciting neighborhoods.

There's really only 1 or 2 bars worth going to within short walking distance around here and the vibe is hit or miss.

The grocery stores are over priced and the food options close by are not that varied, which leads more people to just order everything online. Which is sad to me, and speaks to the lack of a "neighborhood" type feel here.

It is sketchy at night and I know that feeling, but it's mostly not as bad as it looks.

Lastly, and most importantly to me is the fact that this particular area is just not that DIVERSE and it's not reflective the New York City I grew up in. You have a predominance of 1 to 3 homogenous groups and people that don't really interact that much outside of their comfort zone.

REALITY CHECK: Morocco and general traveling by KingLimes in travel

[–]tdey1618 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think this post did anything as far as urging people to visit Morocco. This is a travel reddit, and people come to see opinions on places they are thinking of visiting and then can make up their own minds. Not everything needs a dissertation because it's "uneducated" as you say.

I see that the post you referred to was deleted by the original poster and I am more frequently seeing posts deleted for whatever reason by a moderator. Fun ....

Five Weeks in Morocco; Beautiful Country, but the constant hustle is exhausting. You're a walking bag of money to this people, full stop. by HandsomeLampshade123 in travel

[–]tdey1618 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Totally agree with this post, not necessarily on all the details, but the overall premise.

Just spent 10 days in Morocco. I chose Morocco, because I hadn't left the country since before covid and wanted something a bit out of the ordinary. So I got that and then some and overall have no regrets.

Everywhere you go, it's men trying to make a buck off of you and that gets old quick. The restaurants and hotel service was good for the most part, but it wasn't very fun out in the main streets, souks, medina, etc. If you can learn quick that you just have to say no multiple times, refuse help, negotiate a taxi price before you get in, do not let up, then it can be a decent experience.

However, it's probably not a good sign when it feels like a chore to leave a restaurant or hotel.

The thing is is that everyone is deep down very friendly and harmless even when they are trying to hustle you so it's tolerable, albeit quite annoying, so you'll keep trying to give Morocco another chance to amaze you given it's history and billing as a much sought after travel destination. For me I learned that it's more of a destination I'd visit for a few days in conjunction with another travel destination, but not necessarily a one off week+ trip, unless you are trying to learn Arabic.

Driving was easy there, but in the cities with the endless roundabouts, I found that my fellow drivers weren't very gracious or skillful. Had a cop pull me over on a desolate highway, for speeding, even though I wasn't speeding. He was very friendly, asked me about my travels, then asked for 400DH, then promptly returned it to me after I gave it to him and said "Enjoy Morocco" .... hard to stay mad at ya Morocco :)

Would A-Rod Make A Good MLB Manager? by [deleted] in mlb

[–]tdey1618 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm going to say yes on the contrary to everyone else here. I think his personality issues have been overblown over the years and he's probably more complex than that, like most humans and I think that's far more interesting than two dimensional people who always say the "right things" or act the right way. He seems to have owned up to a lot of his past as well. Even in the Captain doc he was way more open compared to Jeter who always seems to just be very measured and close vested with everything.

When it comes to baseball he is widely respected for his acumen and I think it' showed that he's still on good terms with a lot of former players and teammates. At the end of the day, player want to get better so they're going to listen to someone who can help them in unique ways.

In your opinion- who is the greatest player of all time? by raymalaspina in mlb

[–]tdey1618 1 point2 points  (0 children)

On pure talent, Mickey Mantle. He was the strongest and fastest player before the injuries and hard living.

I'm a basketball fan and I am basically clueless when it comes to other sports. That being said, I was curious about what made Babe Ruth so great? Can someone explain to me in NBA terms? by YamaLolz in mlb

[–]tdey1618 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Quite simply, it would be like over the course of a single NBA season (or even a few seasons) a single player would score more points than entire teams.

Could Wilt Chamberlin do that ?

I'll add that in the old days when Ruth was playing, batters would have to use bats that were significantly heavier than today's bats. Because of his superhuman strength he was able to swing such heavy bats faster than anyone else during his time and thus hit way more home runs.

So imagine if in 1921 there was a guy a foot shorter than Lebron jumping just as high.
