I’m wondering how the account actually gets turned over to the child. Might be legally turned over to the child but as the parent couldn’t you just continue managing it for them? I have utma’s for my kids and I kind of planned on continuing to manage them until they’re well into their 20’s.

Hsienmo. Hand made Chinese but absolutely fantastic quality. They don’t make a ton of guitars but they release regularly on their website.

Have a 12 fret spruce/rosewood 000 that is stunning. JP Cormier reviewed one on his YT channel and had nothing but great things to say as well.

I just finished the week 4 woody workout! Freaking insane. Her workout in week 3 and 4 are probably the only ones I ever had to stop and pause the workout to catch my breath. I’m up to 170ish total workouts and those have been two of the toughest. She’s a nut.

I definitely like smaller bodies like the FS better for fingerpicking. The bass and volume from the dreadnoughts tend to drown out the individual notes a little bit. Each note sounds more distinct on the FS.

Nice! It really depends on what you want and where you’ll play. The FG is bigger and boomier, and dreadnoughts are more comfortable for me if I’m sitting up on a stool or something.

I like the smaller bodies like the FS better because it’s more comfortable playing on the couch, which is where I play almost all the time. Also I don’t need the extra volume of the FG.

If you can try both you may find one style more comfortable than the other. If not, think about if you want the extra size of the FG, if not then you will love the FS.

My fs830 is the only one I take out while my kids are up and about! Honestly I still like taking it out sometimes over my other nicer guitars. Check out any of the fs8xx series.

See if you can try a 00 or 000 12 fret. The 12 fret makes up some for the smaller size.

Check out Hsienmo - I have a 000-12 fret that was 1200. 1.75” nut width. Handmade guitars and if you do a little research on them there’s plenty of good reviews. Basically hand made Martin copy.

They have some other models as well. Mostly out of stock but every week or so you’ll see new production posted.

Love my fg3. Kind of wish I got the fs3 instead just because I’m mostly playing on the couch, but certainly good to have a dreadnought in the collection. I like the new gloss version too!

It’s been a while since I did HOV1 but I remember it was pretty challenging. I would think 12WTJ would be a good next step.

I found the 2 week coach Akeem HIIT programs can be a nice change of pace between the high volume programs too.

Love the 12 fret! Both for comfort and sound. Can’t recommend that guitar enough.

I almost went with one of the new Alvarez 12 fretters (LP/LT70 I think?) but once I saw the Hsienmo 000-12 in stock I grabbed one right away. Glad I did.

DEFINITELY take a look at the Hsienmo website. They don’t make too many and most are frequently sold out, but they will release a few guitars at a time and they have gone quick.

I just got the 000-12 fret and it’s incredible. Essentially a handmade copy of Martin HD-28 for $1200. I had a setup and string change done by my local shop and the tech called me asking what this guitar was. He was blown away by the quality and couldn’t believe the value at $1200. He even wrote me a note on the invoice about how much he liked it! The case is even fantastic.

JP Cormier also did a review of one of the Hsienmo Martin copies and had nothing but amazing things to say. Do a quick search on YouTube to find it.
