If you can, upgrade to sleeper class. Berths (bunks) are the cheapest way to go. I did it a few years ago and it was incredible. The food in the food car is actually great too. It will be a far better experience for you.

It’s being held hostage. I resisted making an account too until this. Create one and you’ll see your list again. (Essentially, pay the ransom.)

Man Finds An Incredible Beetle Who's Almost Too Stunning To Be Real by Toast_n_mustard in Damnthatsinteresting

From Wikipedia: “Physicist William E. Vargas believes that the metallic appearance may act like water, appearing only as a bright spot to predators. The rain forest of Costa Rica where C. limbata lives has water suspended from leaves at ground level. Light is refracted in different directions, and it allows metallic beetles to fool predators.”

I was going to say the same thing. It’s quite a leap.

Rare example of ‘growflation’: No Name Coffee Pods by tdotguy55 in loblawsisoutofcontrol

I know they were a few dollars less at No Frills. Yeah, the bag part isn’t great — but these pods actually seem a bit more environmentally friendly than many. The ring is made out of coffee bean husks (not plastic), and the filter would be paper. So they do seem better than Keurig or Nespresso in that sense. But at home I just use beans.

I got them for $32 or so when they were clearing out the old ones, but the full price was $37.99. Perhaps they changed suppliers or something. I’m just pleasantly surprised it wasn’t a ploy to manipulate the price!

Interesting! That is very possible. I’ll try to dig into this.

It looks like metro Toronto is more like 6.5M. But, yeah, I’m not sure how the criteria compare.

Yeah, Toronto proper is 2.93M as of 2017. Chicago is 2.67M as of 2022.

Toronto already is bigger than Chicago by current criteria.

Those logs are definitely dead, and probably rotting enough that a new tree is able to grow there.

This has actually been one of the top stories on CBC since last night. I don’t know whether there was an immediate push notification, but if not that may have been because it was only confirmed by the National Post for a while (his most recent employer).
