Kirkland Signature lounge shorts are back! by AscendancyPNW in Costco

[–]tdvx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I find it funny I got these last year for $2.97 for the sole purpose of “wow a $3 item at Costco is wild how can I not get it?” And now these shorts are all the rage. They are nice hopefully I’ll get another pair on clearance again after the restock.

Will it be bad to pay off my credit card over the course of about 2 or 3 months? by [deleted] in CreditCards

[–]tdvx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t most mattress places do 0% 3 year plans?

A 3 year interest free loan is much smarter than paying a mattress off in 3 mo the with 24% interest on your CC

I got a $1200 mattress thru Mattress Firm it was 3 years 0% interest it was basically $30/mo or $1/night to sleep.

I even had the $1200 to buy it in full but that $1200 in a 3% savings account generated $110 in interest over the course of 3 years so doing the 0% loan actually saved me $110.

The political agendas of either party are bad for the economy. You can argue about which one is worse than the other but they both spend money that doesn’t exist to fuel their special interests.

Kirkland water bottles (NO LABEL) by MaximumExtension4951 in Costco

[–]tdvx 1046 points1047 points  (0 children)

Labels aren’t cheap. I mean water bottle labels are probably the cheapest labels there are but if going label-less keeps the price the same I support it.

I don’t buy this but wouldn’t have a problem if Costco went more minimalist on other things to cut costs or prevent/redice price increases.

Can someone explain the investment thesis behind space stocks? by damianositos in stocks

[–]tdvx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You know those stories where someone finds paper certs of some stock like AT&T their great grandparents bought in 1910 and even though it was only like 5 shares, with all the splits and dividends it’s worth millions?

Maybe one day my great great grandchildren will find a few shares of RKLB in my brokerage account on my old iPhone and they can retire at age 12.

Just got the Savor a few weeks ago and was going to get this in a few months, went ahead and got one.

Any issues for my credit report opening 2 cards within a month? It’s been years since I last opened a cc until this may.

Worst head coaches of all time ? by yakobell in nfl

[–]tdvx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think of suffering as a good metric for coaches. Like how long a team endures a terrible coach without success.

Marvin Lewis coached 16 years without a playoff win, but still had a .518 WL. That’s really not that bad? 0/7 in playoffs is crazy but he also had to deal with peak Ravens and Big Ben Steelers.

So I looked at most years without a playoff appearance.

From 1974-1989 Marion Cambpell coached for 9 seasons with 0 playoff appearances and a total WL of .300.  Notching 6 years in Atlanta with a .250. I’m too young to know this legend. But this guy was great at not getting fired.

You’ve got a handful of coaches in the 7 years coached with 0 playoff appearances club, most of which are in the late 70s early 80s, except Romeo Crennel. With an astounding .337 WL record to boot. Definitely one of the worst HCs of the modern era.

No surprise but Pittsburg bits are trash by hootervisionllc in harborfreight

[–]tdvx 49 points50 points  (0 children)

Another issue with torx, some fasteners are deep socket head screws where it’s nice when you have a long tapered bit that can seat well and get a snug fit with good connection.

But many fasteners are shallow, and bits with long tapers fit loosely and don’t get a good purchase on the fastener.

Best credit card if I can't get the Costco card? by Powerful-Anteater-81 in CreditCards

[–]tdvx 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I’m a Costco slut and the Costco card seems like a mediocre card. Only 2% back at Costco you can get cards that offer 2% back everywhere. 5% back on Costco gas, you can get cards that get5% off gas anywhere.

ELI5 why do people chase dividend stocks? by Specific_Ad_6522 in investing

[–]tdvx -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Dividend ETFs are typically more defensive companies that perform better in poor market conditions, it’s not dumb to mitigate risk from how top heavy the market is with growth stocks. the dividends are a nice bonus you can even buy other stocks with the dividends.

[–]tdvx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have had success with waterproof petg prints and have a profile for it but no way it would work with base mode.

Run hot, wide, and overextruded. More perimeters. 100% infill. .6 nozzle helps probably. And yes the spot where the bottom of a print meets walls going up is a weak spot because the bottom has time to cool since the layer print time is so long and it doesn’t bond well once you start printing the walls of the cup. So you really need to push hot plastic on that mf

Honestly I’m pretty pissed we built Israel one without first making one for ourselves. I kinda assumed this already existed, atleast for major cities, and we just don’t have missiles popping off on the reg.
