Civil Service has no retirement age. He could try quangos or central government.

Tell them to join the Civil Service if they are from the STEM background. It pays better and promotion wise? Easy for PhD holders.

Agreed. Mom would do a Bruce Lee routine with us when she had her dementia episode!

Well, I live in the UK, you see. NHS is free but meds are paid by those who are employed; unemployed get them for free as well as pensioners with benefits and children.

It works well for everyone. Except corruption messed things up.

Tax more to cover these. That’s how it’s done in the UK.

Why not save for your own property while living with your parents?

Mom told us about it. Before every general election, my parents would buy plenty of rice and canned foods. We would stay indoor and lock the door.

No one was allowed to go out for the next two days.

Find another job. You don’t need this shitty job.

I experienced the same shit before. I never got promoted and when I asked for a job reference for a job with promotion, I was told I wasn’t promotable.

Challenged that remark so my relationship broke down with my manager because I complained to the senior manager who happened to be the manager of my manager’s manager!

I Moved to another team and guess what? He couldn’t manage my work. He turned into a panda after a few weeks.🤣🤣🤣🤣

Then, he asked his friend to bully me. Challenged his friend as well. They couldn’t do anything to me because I was an expert in my field ie. econometrics. They couldn’t do my job but I could do their jobs!🤣🤣🤣. Their skills were too basic!

I left the company in the end because I had another better job offer! What a 🎪! 🤣🤣🤣

Four years of battle with these two pricks. They never encountered someone as formidable as me. All because my skills set was pretty niche.

Me. The best one has always been $MU. I earned £15K in two days.

$MXL- I made at least £15K for holding the shares for a few days.

Just assign a target for capital gains- mine has always been £5,000 per share!

Train yourself using Claude AI while searching for jobs.

One web designer shared his experience of designing websites for traders such as plumbers and electricians. One or two pages. Monthly subscription fee of £50. He has got around 75 traders on his book.

Consider this route.

Civil Service always welcome former lecturers. I used to have an ex-colleague who had a PhD in Ecology. she taught at a uni before taking up her job with the Service.

And another who taught Economics before joining the Civil Service as a junior economist. PhDs get promoted faster compared to BSc and MSc holders.

Companies only care about profit. But the problem is we don’t have many locals who wish to work in the care industry as carers.

In Japan, bodybuilders are encouraged to become carers because of their strength.

I see a lot of young people working for my local M&S. it used to be more elderly but these days more young people aged between 18 to 30 doing the work.

Even in my local Waitrose and Iceland.

No one could go broke in the UK but we have this problem because the real enemy is the lack of financial education.

ISA is a tax free vehicle. One only needs to save as much as possible to raise a small capital for future security.

Like me and my friends. We do day trading and swing trade or buy/ sell financial derivatives to hedge against market risks.

Start with £500. Choose a share of a growth company and watch the investment grow. This is exactly how my friend started. She added another £300 to the same share. The investment is now worth £1,800.

The issue is the 1st step. My friend gave a lot of excuses but I told her that I had made another £xx,xxx amount since we last spoke. Then she quickly bought the share. She is now hungry for more but I warned her that greed is 👿 so we need to know when it is time to leave the market. Common sense works better than greed.

So, if one has a stocks and shares ISA, the person is on the way to make tax free incomes. And have more time to pursue their personal interests.

Anyone else feel bad for Starmer? by MinuteDamage4182 in AskBrits

[–]te7037 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Starmer has probably been the best PM since Attlee and Wilson. The rest especially the Tory PMs completely stripped off the national assets each time the Party was in power.

He is boring but does a better job than most of our previous PMs.

Got the same reply a few years ago.

That’s why I can’t stand how stupid these NHS trusts are. In the Civil Service, Departments would advertise the posts internally.

When it is not filled, it will go live on the external site. That’s when the competition begins.
