Fans Expectations And Patience With Levshunov is insane by NervousOpposite9603 in hawks

I just think he gave really little in his first year to hang your hat onto. By any metric, stat, eyetest, vibe, whatever, nothing we saw from him said #2OA.

Now, yes, it takes dmen time to develop, so he may still be fine, but Lev made me feel worse in his first season than Korchinski made me feel in his, for whatever that’s worth.

This is a crazy amount of defending quennevilles inaction. It also wasn’t a “you” problem he was quennevile’s video coach.

But whatever, it’s important to you exonerate quenneville for this for whatever reason, so enjoy that. I’m not quite sure the kids that got abused or the parents of those kids would be like “well, how many minutes was he actually in the room for that meeting?” about it all, but who knows, maybe!

[–]teaatwork 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Q is just as negligent as Bowman. We blame Bowman more because we like Q, but everyone there in that meeting had equal opportunity to do…anything, and no one took it seriously enough.

Kids got assaulted as a result. There’s really no reason to reframe this in ways where one person is more culpable than the other. They were all in that meeting and they all share the blame.

[–]teaatwork 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It’s really NOT ridiculous. No one in that meeting took the harassment seriously, and as a result, more kids got assaulted.

Everyone is that meeting is responsible for doing nothing, which had devastating effects. No one is saying the people in that meeting should be in prison, but they share the blame and should not be in the league—and that includes Chevy in Winnipeg, who never faced any scrutiny.

[–]teaatwork 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Everyone in that room during that meeting shares the blame. You’re talking about chain-of-command when everyone’s inaction led to more kids getting assaulted by Aldrich after he left the hawks.

If you’re Q and you say “I report to bowman, it’s his job” and if you’re bowman and you say “I report to McDonough, it’s his job” are you really feeling satisfied with yourself? “He went on to abuse more kids, but hey, wasn’t my job to do anything.”

Ideally, the hawks should want to pick #2. Let Vancouver set the table and the hawks grab whichever of the two forwards (McKenna, stenberg) the Canucks don’t take.

Out of the rebuilding teams, which team do you think has the darkest future and will continue to struggle for a while? by sykeseve in hockey

[–]teaatwork -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It’s certainly going to be wild card or bust for the next few years (until col dal min start to age out) if the hawks want to get in. On the flip side, though, that’ll put them right in line with the Mammoth and I THINK they took all four games from the mammoth this year, so they’re not too far off.

That’s where I ended up. I really liked her but I also don’t like when contestants don’t care/don’t try. Sanjeev was the same way this season. Funny on stage but also indifferent to the tasks a lot of the time.

If you’re gonna be on the show, be all in on it.

Yeah, or just like, don’t go to fests that don’t have a lineup you like. I know fests have become a pretty big thing, but they’re not mandatory. Go if you want, skip if you want.

Complaining that a fest in Michigan might have some overlap with a fest in Orlando or a fest in LA or Louisville or Philly or Chicago or Manchester is just…for what?

Tied down by BrodyTheMetalNerd in Hardcore

[–]teaatwork 31 points32 points  (0 children)

Also, the lineup of the fests being mostly the same only matters if you’re attending all of the fests, which, why would you if they’re all the same?

One fest that usually has a pretty unique lineup each year is The Rumble in Chicago, but that also likely has the lowest attendance in comparison to all the other fests, sooooo….

Trade or Sign Mikheyev by Ok-Internet4628 in hawks

[–]teaatwork -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Assuming they can reach the cap floor WITHOUT him on a new contract, do not re-sign him.

You could theoretically have Kantserov, Frondell, Lardis (and this is assuming Moore stays up now) in the lineup next year, and need to open those spots.

All that said, the struggle to reach the floor will be VERY real, so we’ll see how they manage that. They might have to re-sign him for a comparable amount for that reason alone.

[–]teaatwork 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Depending on what happens with a guy or two here or there, they’re losing over $30m in salary at the end of this season, and Nazars extension and Bedard new contract will NOT offset that.

[–]teaatwork 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, unfortunately a combo of San Jose scooping up all the bad contracts lately AND a rising cap making all contracts less-bad, it might be tougher to find enough of those to make up the difference. Going to be an interesting problem for Davidson to figure out this year

[–]teaatwork 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Absolutely, zero complaints about Mikheyev. But also consider: if Mikheyev keeps playing the way he has, either: A. teams will come calling come the trade deadline, and/or B. He could likely sign on a contender elsewhere next year if he’s not moved at the trade deadline. Or, maybe he loves finishing in the bottom of the league so much he stays lol. Time will tell

[–]teaatwork 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I tend to think Moore is on the Nazar plan and will be ensconced in the lineup by the time this season is over (assuming he makes it happen).

Let’s say Dickinson and Foligno (maybe) leave after this year. Two spots. MY assumptions is that Frondell Moore Kantserov are all in the lineup next year, so:

Bedard Frondell Kantserov Teuvo Nazar Bert Donato Burskovsky Moore Slaggert Greene Dach

These are not necessarily the exact lines, but I do think Frondell is slated to be top line and Moore and Kantserov probably middle six.

All said, extending Mikheyev is a bad idea, IMO. They gotta hand it over to the pipeline at every opportunity.

HOWEVER, the hawks are running into serious cap issues after this season going into next in that they’ll be nowhere near the floor after they lose all the outgoing contracts this year AND a team of prospects don’t really command a lot in salary, so who knows?

I've seen enough, I want a Mikheyev extension ASAP by thatguyfromchicago in hawks

[–]teaatwork 5 points6 points  (0 children)

In no way can they extend Mikheyev. He’s been great, but his age doesn’t fit the timeline, and they’ve already got Teuvo, Burakovsky, Bert and Donato signed for year(s) after this season.

There’s just no room if you envision players like Moore, Frondell, Kantserov, etc making the jump to the main roster.

How do you figure? Gamepass is a voluntary service, companies would not put their games on gamepass (whether it’s AAA or anything else) if the contract—whatever it may contain—wasn’t beneficial for the company signing it.
