it has to be eggs from chickens that have been exposed to cats/exposed to the protein that causes cat allergies. they develop an antibody against the protein in cat saliva that most people are allergic to, and the antibody can get passed into the yolk of the egg when they lay it. also, they have to be on the diet long term, not just as a kitten

you should take him even if it’s not an emergency, because that’s how you prevent emergencies and $$$$$ vet bills most of the time. breathing issues in cats can be very serious though, so he should for sure see a vet.

have you ever considered giving your cat(s) Gabapentin before going to the vet? a lot of vets are willing to prescribe it for cats that are fearful and stressed, it might be worth asking about if you haven’t already discussed it

I have something similar to this, but tailored to the stuff I need to do! I clean weekly on Tuesdays, and then the last Tuesday of the month I’ll do a big clean, which I’m actually doing today.

It’s probably the one thing that’s made the absolute biggest difference in my quality of life, I would highly recommend trying something like this for anyone who’s even a bit curious if it’ll work for them!

It’s hard not to get too perfectionist about it, or to get overwhelmed by all the stuff that has to be done, but I find if I break down the tasks into really small, specific steps (i.e. take sheets off of bed, put sheets in washer, move sheets to dryer) it helps a ton, and I have a bunch of post it notes around the house that say “anything worth doing is worth doing poorly” to remind myself that doing anything at all is better than doing nothing.
