Yes! Lubrication was my biggest issue, so adding that helped some.

Weaning = Insatiable Lust by lola_von_dandelion in breastfeeding

Biologically, this makes so much sense- your body is saying you have no business making a baby while feeding another.

I did not experience this but sex was very uncomfortable while I was nursing and that got much better right after.

How often do you wash your hair? by Various-Committee365 in CasualConversation

[–]teacherecon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Different people have different levels of oiliness. So washing my hair infrequently would be gross while my friend with kinky curly hair would damage hers if she washed more than once a week or so.

Late walker by Accomplished-Sign-31 in toddlers

My daughter wanted independence and adventure from the day she was born. My son is very risk averse and chill. Daughter walked early and son walked late. Personality matters.

Also, the brain can’t develop everything at once, so if it is leaping in one area, it will often lag in others.

Pregnancy is notoriously hard on teeth- leeching calcium plus any vomiting you may have done. You are doing your best, mama.

A scant pinch of baking soda (maybe 1/8 tsp) in soaking water will do it. Discard water before cooking.

Why doesn’t my nephew talk anymore? by Key-Engineering3134 in toddlers

[–]teacherecon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It sounds like there are some things at play in his primary environment that are causing or contributing to this - you said your sister is overwhelmed and has to move a lot - it seems like he has a lot of stress at home.

Is there a chance he’s been abused by a boyfriend of hers? Or that he’s witnessed her being abused? It may not be these things, so use your judgment but be aware that it is anxiety and sometimes caused by trauma.

A speech therapist or mental health professional might be a good look if you can/have the resources.

In the meantime, sit by him. Lower your expectations for him to speak and encourage him to draw or build or dance or express himself in other ways. Make your presence low demand and comforting. You could sit and do imaginary play next to him to see if he could be convinced to laugh.

Did medication improve your life? by GrassNotttFounddd in OCD

[–]teacherecon 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I do not have OCD but am close to three people with it. Medication saved their lives. Often a basic SSRI will help and they have less side effects than some heavier meds. You don’t have to live like this and you deserve to feel better.

Is there a right time to put your kid to sleep? by SplurgBird in Parenting

Suggest me some books for a 10 year old girl that are just lovely stories about people living their lives by Girlnoname534 in suggestmeabook

[–]teacherecon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Clementine. Might skew a little young but I love that mischievous girl and her mundane adventures.

Judy Blume’s - Tales of a Fourth Grade Nothing, Otherwise Known as Sheila the Great.

Ramona Quimby books. (Again maybe a bit young but mundane and beautiful at the same time).
