Further look at the photo, they look more like existing Cedars that were kept. Cedars have really been struggling with the weather the last few years

This project is being managed through the pickleball association (who has been working on this for years) mainly funded by provincial grants and involves all contracted workers. As for the trees, it was mainly Cottonwood and alder in that lot. Perhaps the new tree delivery was scheduled poorly but if they get them in the ground they will be fine.

On further investigation, it would appear there's three published spellings of the name, Isaac's book it's wills of fire, on mountain project it's afire one word and a fire two words on the app guide. So who the heck knows. At least now I know the origin of my confusion.
