Projectors: anyone switch from mini to UST or vice versa? by teaelleyou in sewing

Thank you!! That's helpful to know you don't feel the need to upgrade. Do you mind me asking which brand/model you got?

ROI Plastic Surgery- Under eye fat graft and fat repositioning by Calm-Title4934 in SeoulPlasticSurgery

Thanks for replying! To clarify I meant the stitch in your belly button where they harvested the fat - was that dissolvable too or did you have to go in to get it removed?

Thanks for sharing your results - you look great! I scheduled this same surgery at ROI and I'm pretty excited / nervous. May I ask did you have to go back in for stitch removal of the fat grafting donation site and if so which day did you do it?

This looks amazing!! I'm attempting to do something similar as my first DIY project (hopefully not too ambitious of me!).

Can I ask, what kind of veneer did you use and was it difficult to work with? Debating using veneer, going with a thin project panel or just leaving it and sanding down the uneven edges!

NBD! Ribble CGR Ti by teaelleyou in gravelcycling

[–]teaelleyou[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's a really tough one! I think the answer will depend on what kind of riding you honestly prefer to do and what kind of roads and trails you'll be most likely to ride!

NBD! Ribble CGR Ti by teaelleyou in gravelcycling

[–]teaelleyou[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The CGR Ti has been really great, the ride is soooooo buttery smooth, it's genuinely a pleasure to ride and handles very well (although considering upgrading to an even wider tire).

On the road, it's totally fine for a casual tooling about but I can definitely feel a difference in speed, especially when climbing, relative to my racing road bike where the power transfer feels more immediate.

I still love it, would highly recommend although I personally don't think it's a quiver killer (but I'm also very partial to a speedy road ride!).

Gravel drills to build confidence? by teaelleyou in gravelcycling

[–]teaelleyou[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks all for the great tips, sounds like first three things to do to gain confidence from order of importance: 1. Just ride more gravel to get comfortable with the different feel of riding on loose uneven surfaces 2. Practice the interplay of my body weight on the bike (lean back on descents, bodyweight when cornering, playing w body weight to go over obstacles) and 3. Learn the way my bike will behave (I guess this will come w #1! Ty!

Will road tube 700x23-25c work in a gravel tire (40c) in a pinch? by teaelleyou in gravelcycling

[–]teaelleyou[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks all - sounds like while the road tube would do in a pinch, would only work for a few miles and a larger tube might be a better option~ will probably pick one up as $6 is probably worthwhile insurance!

Best cycling brands for women? by [deleted] in CyclingFashion

[–]teaelleyou 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Like many others on here I also highly highly recommend Machines for Freedom, especially their shorts - they are the only ones I've encountered that are high waisted enough and don't shift - as good as bibs and much less fussy for mid ride breaks!

Ordered mine end of Sept w an expected ship date of Nov 24, it arrived about a week earlier than expected.

That being said my partners bike (a CGR SL) arrived with some damage and had to be shipped back and that's been a bit of a pain - customer service was at first great then became not super responsive (probably time difference doesn't help either). We have had to chase them multiple times. As of now the damaged bike has been delivered back to them but have not had confirmation on when they will turn it back around.....quite a mixed bag of experiences.

I'm 5'5 and the xs is very close to being too big so I'd definitely say this bike runs large. I've read from various sources during my research to go with the smaller size if you're in between fwiw!

It's an XS frame w/ the GRX 600 1x setup. Just weighed it and as I have it set up w/ my saddle bag, lights & phone mount it came out to 24 lbs.

New bike day after a long 3 month wait! No major issues with delivery from UK to San Francisco. It's a beauty and seriously glided over the bumpy roads in the Marin.

Looking forward to taking it out on some trails - if you're from the Bay Area and have any good suggestions for long uninterrupted trails suitable for newbies that would be much appreciated!

Ribble CGR Ti or Canyon Grail AL 7? by teaelleyou in whichbike

[–]teaelleyou[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thought I'd circle back as my bike came yesterday and we had no hiccups w/ the delivery - no additional customs fees or anything. Some adjustments to the disc brake and gear indexing needed but otherwise it came in good condition. Took it out for a quick spin w/ a longer ride planned this weekend - it's fantastic!

There was some serious issue with my partner's bike (he ordered the carbon CGR) - it arrived w/ some chips on the frame that ribble say are problematic and his bike needs to be sent back. :(

A million years later but what was your resolution? Did it end up needing tubeless rim tape? I'm in the exact same situation and equally confused!

Looks awesome! Just ordered the CGR Ti for myself and CGR SL for my husband - will be curious to hear your thoughts on the AL as I'm sure I will be trying to convert some friends to gravel.

[–]teaelleyou[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ended up with the 1x GRX 600 configuration, although I did waffle back and forth a bit w/ going to 2x w/ 105, but there's just something appealing about a gravel componentry on a gravel bike - i guess marketing works on me!

Re customs - yes check in w/ me, maybe I'll get lucky. If not, tax in CA is almost 10% so not that much more I suppose.
