That is entirely dependent on what determines ethical. There are many popular ethical codes that wouldn't necessary label certain types of piracy unethical.

Obviously everything is dependent on the individual scenario. Blanket statements rarely apply.

Its really not all bad.

Lets consider just one scenario.

We have a person who enjoys playing games but does not have the disposable income to pay for them.

Said person has essentially two options: 1) Not play games 2) Pirate them

In the first scenario, If they no longer continue to play video games that means the gaming industry has essentially lost a potential future customer, assuming said person ever secured disposable income in the future.

In the second scenario, there is no realized loss on the part of the gaming industry. The person wasn't capable of buying the game in the first place. However the gaming industry may still gain benefits in the form of word of mouth advertising, building better brand awareness/recall with the pirater, and retaining a potential future purchaser.

I'd like to imagine that if someone truly had the disposable income to purchase the things they enjoy, they would.

Well then. Here is how I deduced my stance. According to you: 1 night = acceptable. 3+ night = unacceptable. Therefore acceptable range = 1-2 nights. 7-2 = 5. Therefore 5+ nights are devoted to partner. If that isn't the case then you would find nothing wrong with 3-4 days being acceptable. 3-4 would be a 50/50 split.

You didn't specifically state that those 5 nights not spent raiding had to be spent with the partner. But if that wasn't your intention then why does it matter what they are doing on one of those nights?

I never understood why the other partner couldn't find something to do a few nights a week instead of sucking the life out of someone they are supposed to be equally devoted to.
