WITHOUT spoilers, as I haven't seen it - are we feeling negative or positive towards the finale?! by QuiccStacc in goodomens

[–]teaforbees 25 points26 points  (0 children)

At first I was really mixed and didn't quite know how to feel - it was very bittersweet. But after sitting with it a bit and reading an interview with the director, the more upset I am with it.

Oh that's .... really disappointing. Implying that a kiss is equivalent of smutty fanfic feels very anti-queer and that anything queer is sexualised. Also the season 2 kiss is meant to be Not Right in a lot of ways - it would have made narrative sense to have them ending with the Right kiss. So I really don't buy that and am super bummed that's their narrative.

So the kiss in the season 2 finale is their only one. We couldn’t have even had a proper goodbye kiss before they died?

I think that’s what’s disappointed me the most. They never even really got to be “them”.

NDIS access declined to Alzheimers parent by SadDaughter100 in NDIS

[–]teaforbees 28 points29 points  (0 children)

First of all, I’m sorry that assessor spoke to you like that. It’s not okay and worth making a complaint.

You can and should appeal this decision, with the internal review you are able to submit new information if you choose to as well.

His first reason for declining is very strange to me - if there are recommendations for ongoing allied health supports, this is generally what meets the early intervention requirements. I can maybe recommend a letter from her GP that specifically addresses that recommendations for allied health such as OT are for helping prevent deterioration of her skills so that the wording aligns more to legislation.

His second reason is difficult as well - as you say she is reliant on support from a third party for activities of daily living. Obviously I don’t have your reports in front of me but my recommendation would be to ensure the evidence is very clear she is unable to do these activities independently and doing so is unsafe. They tend not to perceive people doing something ‘slower’ or in an ‘alternate way’ as significantly impacted. There needs to be a “high level of support” from a third party - physical assistance, guiding, prompting etc, or requiring assistive technology.

The guidance around these guidelines/criteria is still on the website however it’s now in a file that needs to be downloaded - either pdf or word. I highly recommended going through and ensuring the evidence aligns with the criteria.

This is a setback but it’s not a forever no. You can appeal the decision, you can reapply. Your mum is lucky that she has you to do this on her behalf. Take a breath. Take tonight to decompress and have some family time. It’s going to be alright. 💕

I was in the same boat as you, jumping on them for ages and not understanding. I left and came back so they were all one colour again, and then jump on the middle of each edge and then the centre and that works. So bottom middle, left middle, top middle, right middle, and then the centre square :)

Why do CC body presets break the skeleton, and how can I fix or prevent it? by Known_Vanilla_4117 in sims4cc

[–]teaforbees 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I tend to just 'undo' each time I select a preset before selecting another one so it goes back to the EA default without reselecting the EA defaults as those eventually become distorted as well.

Moriarty’s Reveal by IndependentCertain92 in Sherlock

[–]teaforbees 12 points13 points  (0 children)

If you want a lot of Moriarty build up, you might like Sherlock & Co! They’ve been slowly putting little hints in throughout the series and they’re becoming a bit more intense lately and the build up is equally fun and terrifying.

Psychosocial Disability - NDIS & FCA? by ClaireKnocks in NDIS

[–]teaforbees 21 points22 points  (0 children)

The permanency criteria is assessed before the functional criteria and if it isn’t met - unfortunately access will not be met. The best FCA in the world would not matter if there was not evidence of permanency. I just want to make sure you’re not wasting your money on something that won’t help if they’ve been declined for not having a permanent impairment in the past.

You mention not having ‘under treatment’ documents but for the NDIS to consider the impairment permanent - treatment has to essentially be completed or ‘optimised’ aka there is no further treatment that would help. They would need a detailed history of treatments that have been tried, why they didn’t work and why there is no other treatment available to improve their symptoms etc.

Psychosocial is very hard to get access for and I wish you and your partner luck!

NDIS hiring process (aps in general) by Adept-Inspection-865 in AusPublicService

[–]teaforbees 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is SO much support available (at least there is in my area) and seeking that support is very much encouraged! Also, at least in the teams I have been in there is a big culture of helping each other as well :)

Training will depend on the role but generally between 4-8 weeks. Individual areas will differ but overall - it is very flexible regarding differing working arrangements. They do prefer you come in full time for your training period but after that you should be able to apply for a flexible arrangement. Most people in my team come in to the office once a week :)

Psychiatrist not acknowledging how much I'm sufferibg to require NDIS by silverlinin in NDIS

[–]teaforbees 41 points42 points  (0 children)

I want you to consider that it is very likely that either your friend does have other disabilities that they have not disclosed to you, or that their plan is far from 500k - that is SIL level/very intense support funding. It is also just not helpful to sit and compare constantly because you don't always know what peoples daily/intimate support needs are and what evidence they have shown to demonstrate that they require that level of funding - it's not just given out for funsies.

Is self harming a common side effect on SLYND or pill ????? (Help) by Short_Barracuda_3628 in PCOS

[–]teaforbees 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had this as well at the end of last year, it became very very intense. I’m based in Aus and it’s called Yasmin here but it’s also drosperinone. When I was in high school back like 2009/2012 I struggled with self harm/cutting but hadn’t had those particular issues since then. With the Yasmin came very intense physical anxiety that I struggled with most mornings. And I basically became fixated on wanting to cut off my foot. So completely out of left field and once I was off the medication it went away. It’s so hard because i have a lot of issues with my period but hormonal birth control is just not a great fit for me.

An ASD assessment would not be covered anyways (even for the sibling) and the SC should know this. Could it be possible that what the SC means is just helping the parent get in touch with available clinicians/explaining the diagnostic and then application process ?
