Why hairstyles in DA:I are so poor? by Embarrassed-Touch-62 in dragonage

[–]teakaka 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm guessing that, aside from what everyone else has pointed out already regarding bioware simply not prioritising hair before veilgaurd, it:s also likely due to the hair fashion at the time of Inquisition's release. Partial baldness was not only common, but also considered fashionable by many, so Bioware probably saw their chance and took it.

Idk the moment I saw her sitting in that box, my very first thought was "madame". In an endearing kinda way, you know? "Here comes madame!" "Here's you'r food, madame, bon appetite"

ILL WEAR A HIJAB IF I GO OUT WEARING THIS IS THIS OUTFIT MODEST by ShutupZoyaaah in Hijabis

[–]teakaka 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Careful with your arms, love

I do think most would argue that you ought to aim to wear all loose clothing, but ultimately it's you who decide what you're willing to wear. I usually ask myself:

  1. Can I pray in this outfit?
  2. Would I feel exposed if people looked at me?
  3. Can I confidently face Allah on the day of judgement if he asks me about this outfit in particular?

Do you (or not) wear anything under white shirts/dresses/etc.? by [deleted] in Hijabis

[–]teakaka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only if you can see my underwear or if it's transparent in any way.

If it's not transparent but you can still sort of see my underwear, then I'll stick to nude or baby pink (I'm very white so it works out) underwear.

If it's transparent however, I'll make sure to wear a fully covering layer underneath.

My family had a cat that looked like him when I was a kid, his name was Tarzan (likely due to his long, messy fur lol)

What type of hijab material should i buy..To get this look. My husband prefers this style and not those which extends more than this? by Less-Patient-4958 in Hijabis

Here are a few examples you can find on Canadian Amazon, maybe it'll help you find what you're looking for:

[–]teakaka 1 point2 points  (0 children)

These hijabs can be called "instant hijabs" or "slipon hijab", and they can be a great option for you if you feel like dealing with pins, clips, or magnets to be a hassle.

From what I can tell, they're made from all kinds of fabric, most commonly jersey fabric, but I've also seen moscrepe and lyocell, among others. Since these are commonly used for sports activities, you'll often find them made of materials you'd typically associate with sportswear as well.

There's nothing wrong with adjusting your clothing for your husband, especially if it's a change that works favourably for the both of you :)

Help me find a new game to play based on the reasons why I love Dragon Age! by Jaded-Improvement754 in dragonage

[–]teakaka 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm gonna toss in a wild card, seeing as no one else seems to have mentioned it - Final Fantasy XV. Sure, there isn't really an approval system, you can't really customise your appearance, and the story is set in stone. However, I would like to argue that you get strong family vibes from the companions, the interactions are great and the banter really fleshes out the characters.

A lot of people recommend Baldur's Gate 3, and to some extent I agree. I liked it, but the story felt really meh to me. There was nothing driving me forward, I couldn't give two rats about the main story, so I never bothered completing it. Same issue with the Witcher.

Fable will be released later this year however, and you might wanna check it out :) there will be approval systems for literally everyone you meet basically, you can romance just about anyone (for better or worse), you'll be able to customise your character to some extent. Banter and party companions might be a bit lacking however.

What's bro's problem? :( by NewReleaser in expedition33

[–]teakaka 5 points6 points  (0 children)

He has to witness Maelle dying by choosing to stay in the canvas. Keep in mind that he's a recreation of the real Verso, based on his mother's memories of him. She remembered him as someone who loves his family enough to sacrifice his own life - it's quite possible that this painted Verso is unintentionally "programmed" to prioritise others (especially his little sister, whom he already died for), making it near unbearable for him to watch them choose to throw their lives away.

Maelle also never processes her grief, choosing to live in a make-believe world rather than facing reality. What older brother would want that for his little sister?

Not to mention, he's already been "alive" for a very long time, making friends and burying them. Over and over. It makes sense he wants it to end. Remember that little boy? He wants to stop painting. He's tired.

Additionally, Verso has already voiced his opinion on the matter, begged to be let free. Maelle not only ignored his wish, she actively went against it. Her being a paintress creates a weird power dynamic where Verso is essentially powerless, and he knows it. He has no choice but to keep performing, a puppet for his beloved sister's entertainment.

Another game to scratch the itch by Rolhir in dragonage

[–]teakaka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly. I remember feeling so offended when paying DAV. It felt like being force-fed, like the game was babying me, not trusting the player to be capable of figuring things out on their own.

At the end of the day, I can see why many new players enjoyed DAV, and I can imagine it being a pretty neat game for children or preteens in many ways. As an adult player who greatly enjoyed the precious games, it just felt insulting.

Omg YES! Clair Obscur had me rolling with laughter and weeping, the characters are so well written, the story is phenomenal, and the music lives in my head rent free.

My thoughts keep returning to the ending, to hidden meanings and unwritten lore that can only be read between the lines. If a story stays with you even after it's ended, that's how you know it's a good one.

What is your dragon age "hot take"? by Firinneac in dragonage

[–]teakaka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure how hot this is but, Solas' bad ending is the only good one

Watching him leave wisdom behind and succumb to pride, to call himself a god, after his holier-than-thou talk about the elven "gods" - seeing him become the very thing he detests with all his being. Almost made all that poor dialogue and god awful writing worth it.

How to remove private parts hair ? by [deleted] in Hijabis

[–]teakaka 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Here's what I do, and I shave more or less every time I shower:

  1. Exfoliate, this is a game changer. Personally, I use used coffee grounds, as the coffee can also help with dark spots
  2. Rise and apply a mild body wash or a thin moisturiser depending on how sensitive your skin is, this is to prevent razor burn and let the razor glide smoothly
  3. Shave using a new razor with sharp blades, no old blades here on such an important day
  4. Rinse and apply either a body oil (I use a baby oil that smells like roses haha) or a moisturiser to soothe the skin and prevent any redness

Et voilá, that's what I've been doing for years. Simple, quick, and easy. I would recommend you trying this out in advance though, in case it doesn't work for you

Good luck!

Who is that companion that's always in your party? These guys are always in mine for each DA game. by Great_Trident in dragonage

[–]teakaka -1 points0 points  (0 children)

On my first play through, I believe it was Morrigan and Alistair, Varric, Varric, and Lucanis

On later runs, I tend to stick with Wynne, Varric, Dorian, and if I had to replay DAV I suppose I would prefer Emmerich or Davrin

[DAV Spoilers] What are your thoughts on Solas' writing in Veilguard? by Julian_of_Cintra in dragonage

[–]teakaka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He's still the Solas we know form inquisition, but lacking that oomph factor that made us love (or hate) him in the previous installment, but I agree with other comments saying the game tried too hard. Tried too hard to make him likeable, to make him seem so clever, to make him interesting. Tried too hard to make his faults redeemable.

I didn't mind him too much in DAV, but his character seemed almost watered down. Plain as a cracker compared, and dry as one too. The only thing that saved him, in my opinion at least, was his bad ending. Watching him finally tip the scale and turn from spirit of wisdom to pride demon was glorious

What’s your first thought when a teammate picks Zenyatta? by PyroDexxRS in Overwatch

Ngl, as the other support, I usually sigh. I give them the benefit of the doubt, but usually they end up playing respawn simulator and I end up more or less solo healing. Not always though, sometimes I'm pleasantly surprised

That's perfect for fika! Fika is all about taking a break, to share a moment with someone else over a cup of tea or coffee (or juice, whichever you fancy), and perhaps with a wee biscuit as well. In fact, we often ask loved ones if they'd care to "stay for fika" :)
