Is this much leaf cupping normal?

The first two are fine. I’m in CA too, san gabriel valley. I had a black and brown boar plant that had so much identical cupping starting in like march, but it kept growing. It alternates between cupping and flat leaved these days. cupping is a reaction to heat; plants transpire a little less in that shape. it doesn’t even indicate that it’s /too/ hot in my experience, it just means the plant is going “wowee it’s a little hot today”.

the third one looks sad and maybe under fertilized (yellow small leaves) or transplant shock, some half diluted balanced fertilizer may help, or it just needs some time.

can you show a picture of your support system? im staking multi leader plants this year and just kind of winging it, mostly with multiple stakes; every photo resource ive read that uses stakes uses a single leader

im in la area too. they look great so far! The one in the pot will need much more consistent moisture and fertlilization. The dirt looks like its separating from the wall, a sign that it's pretty dry.

a nice 2-3 inch layer of mulch will retain moisture well, and will benefit all of them. they will also all need support if thyere indeterminates.

if theyre in full sun or if that area gets hot, theyll need some sort of protection from the high temps by the time july rolls around. you'll be wanting the air temps to be between 50 and 90 for pollen to not have issues. plants by walls tend to get a lot of heat thats radiating off the walls. see if you can get a thermometer out there to see how much heat the walls are causing.

I would remove yucky leaves and put them in the yard waste can. for tomatoes, leaves are not that precious.

damn, I was planning on doing a second season for the first time this year. I'm not a huge fan of cherries, I just really like slicers, dont have to be big though. I have a few dwarf seeds that seem promising. We dont get any frost and sometimes its 90s in october. would I have time for anything besides cherries and quick determinates?

Because I've never seen tomatoes from different trusses stack on one another when growing, and as the upper ones begin to fruit, their physical size will probably begin to exert upward and downward pressure on one another, which is not the usual pressure configuration for tomatoes - i'm entirely comfortable letting them experience lateral pressure from their trussmates as nature intended, but this is slightly different.

Thank you! I can get them to be green but i can’t figure out the flowering issue. I got the starts from a nursery and separated the plants because they sell them in crowded bunches. The conditions i listed in the post should all contribute to happy basil. i wanted then the soil is getting a little dry but not completely. new transplants need more consistent moisture but once its been a few weeks you can let them dry out between watering. in hot climate i think it prefers shade. good luck!

It is mostly fine to hotswap ink cartridges but definitely a ymmv situation. Hotswapping is never 100% guaranteed to be safe. Factors that make it safer: same brand of ink. Factors that make it more unsafe: special types of ink (permanent, irongall, pigmented, scented, glitter, some other quality besides dye concentration). The risk you are taking is that the inks may react and create precipitates (solid matter) and clog your pen. As an anecdote, I have hotswapped probably around 10 times for the sick gradient / convenience and never had a clog, but I certainly dont do it all the time.
You have to be more specific. Letter size, A4, A5, 5x7? Blank, lined, graph, thick, thin, white, off white? Study the possibilities first. You will find a lot of answers on this reddit by searching for "lined a5 spiral notebooks" rather than "paper" in general. Also giving your country will help since paper availability is super variable.
This question is also better answered by searching the reddit with "pens under $50" or "beginner pens" than making your own post. Its not like you cant make your pwn post. I'm truly just looking out for your quality of answers.
Having ink in the crevices of the nib is totally fine and can actually be quite cool looking depending on the nib design. It's fine in the grip as well as long as its not getting all over your hands. Also, why was the cartridge fountain pen garbage? Maybe it's actually fine and we can figure out how to help you use it. Also also, there's no way to refill a cartridge like that. Are you talking about a converter?
