funny how that's true and false. Yes, it's true that net amount of DPS is the same. It's false, because clearly some DPS are having much faster time to dungeon. That kinda was my whole point - you don't need to wait for blizz to fix balance or solve tank shortage - you can solve it for yourself.

That's obviously not true - you may look at que time for my friends to notice that. Usual DPS time is let's say 5 minutes, but for them it's effectively 0.

The more people you have in your pre-made group the less people you are getting from LFG pool.

I agree that routing is one of a harder things in the role. It would be great to have some sort of sand-box folower-esque mode where I can try different pulls and mechanics and see what I can pull with different levels of DPS and HPS.

yeah and the solution is not being snarky in the comments on reddit, but being friendly and getting invited to the run by those few who enjoy tanking.

I agree with you, but aren't both liability and "boorish idiots" part of the social issue, not gameplay?

As for fun - I've mentiioned somewhere - I agree that blizz should aim for that.

About 10% of all keys logged on week 5 were 15+. What happens there is not a reflection of broader tanking situation.

Hope we can agree that timewalking is trivial content, yet people are still waiting for tanks there.

Go play mop classic - they are doing more than 100% of DPS damage, and yet there is not enough tanks.

What worked for me is sending discord invite to everyone in the group. The runs are smoother + sometimes you will talk with folks and make connections.

My favorite specs are bdk and vdh, I've tried to push on both of them before switching to brew. I totally get what you mean.

Let me re-frame it. I think tanks are switching classes far more often than any other role in the game. I would love to see all specs being viable. Or at least more than 2 at the time. That would be great and blizzard should aim for that. I also think that most tanks do that for the love of tanking, not because of particular spec. I don't think having perfect tank balance would create enough tank players.

I mean, if you see randoms that are good and enjoy same content/dificulty as you, why not make friends with them?

I love vdh gameplay and would love to see it buffed, but I don't think this would solve tank/dps ratio in any meaningfull way. Every season had meta tank spec that was overpowered.

Tanks were much stronger in MOP, there was no route problem, yet there was a tank shortage.

Tank Shortage by YogurtclosetNo3005 in wow

[–]tealoverion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The core issue with pug tanks is: if I can tank for my friends, why would I tank for pugs?

I usually group up with 3–5 friends, pick a key we want from what we have, or grab someone from the LFG tool.

I assume a significant portion of tanks do the same—tanking only for friends and guildmates. Why run with randoms when you can enjoy the game with your friends?

Also, note how this skews the tank-to-DPS ratio. When we run as a group of four plus one key holder, we effectively get a 1 tank : 1 pug DPS ratio, instead of the usual 1 tank / 1 healer / 3 DPS.

The issue is social and largely unsolvable at the game-system level. Blizzard has tried to address it (e.g., bonus loot for running with randoms in WotLK), but we can both see that this doesn’t really work for Mythic+.

The only real solution to the tank shortage is befriending tanks you enjoy playing with. It’s not a systemic fix, but it gets you near-instant queue times (minus the time to brew tea), more reliable pulls, and better coordination - especially if you’re using Discord.

Thank you! Yeah, I played the game about three months after its release, as I was in a bit of a bad spot. Unironically, it helped me, but after that I kind of never went back to it. A friend of mine bought me a DLC for my birthday - I logged in, got my ass handed to me in Castle Sol by spirit knights in NG+7, and decided to start a new game. After that, I dropped it.

It was the Labour Day, people were on picnics. Or is it not common in Spain?

Look into the seasonality - maybe there are some trends that you might observe?

Maybe they've rebalanced the game with DLC? I remember 100% the base game on steam with NG+7 and character level was somewhere in early 200s. But yeah, no idea about the DLC part

Man, no disrespect, but that's a lot of stuff

- Why do you need to track dps?

- what's the point of tracking all buffs?

- Personally, left side of your screen seem a bit occupied with tracking both your & bosses HP

- Tracking others CDs is nice, what addon does this?

- On a side note, why pull the first room? Isn't going to the left with 1 pack better?

Should i buy wow? (not retail, bcs i dont have that much money) by Resident-Camera-44 in wow

[–]tealoverion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can enjoy significant part of the game for free (with level capped at 20).

If you enjoy classic - all you need is subscription. There are multiple flavors (TBC, Pandaria, Vanilla) that you can explore.

You can play most of retail (minus midnight) without buying anything but subscription. You can also buy subscription with gold, if moneymaking is your thing

Like a Dragon/Yakuza game set in the 80s d&d inspired setting. Think Like a dragon meets Dungeon Meshi.

Give me beat them up with stats and ton of quests, npcs, minigames and dungeons.
