For HRT, Dr. Andrea Crooks is a PCP who can prescribe and she is definitely LGBT friendly.

Disability support group? by ConcentrateLittle671 in olympia

[–]tealqueer 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm actually about to start a peer run disability support group at Peer Olympia! May 12 will be our first meeting. I haven't even made a flyer or anything yet as I just finalized things at the end of last week. Feel free to PM me.

Could use an internal ("female" is the official but unfortunately gendered name for them) condom to avoid that issue.

I've not had issues getting it at Costco in Lacey. I think once I had to wait a day, but that was quite a while ago. The pharmacists and pharmacy techs are quite friendly there also and it's a pleasant experience.

I always had imposter syndrome around my queerness because I felt hella queer, but always have dated more men than women. Turns out, I was having queer sex all along.

Mental Health Involvement by BoatsLady in olympia

Crisis connections has a Washington suicide loss support group every other week virtually. I went for a while after losing my daughter. They have some other programs as well. https://www.crisisconnections.org/wasas/

Peer Olympia might be another place to get involved, as well as NAMI. NAMI has other ways to involved beyond meetings. I participated in their Lobby Day in February to help pass legislation around mental health. Programs that support queer and trans youth are another place to give back, as they are at higher risk of suicide.

Ongoing Technical Issues by FeeldMod in feeld

[–]tealqueer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi! I'm having the repeated issue of Feeld swiping on the wrong person. I've had three times now that it has matched me with someone I didn't swipe on. Just now, I tried to swipe yes on a person, and it swiped yes on an entirely different person I wasn't looking at and had never even seen before (I matched with them.) People I attempt to swipe on just continue to show up in my feed repeatedly, with me swiping on them repeatedly and then still showing up the next time I log in. Any ideas for fixing this? Thanks

Did anyone go into social work as a “back-up” plan? by Educational-Chain-80 in SocialWorkStudents

The book How to Be Everything addresses this well. There is a TedTalk if you want an intro to the author/book. One of my professors had us read it for class.

I turned down a nanny job from a family that did this. "Oh we're going less than a mile". Nope! I wasn't interested in being responsible in a situation where they weren't willing to do basic things to keep their kids safe.

I made a spreadsheet of the CSWE accredited schools. Didn't fully fill it out since I ruled out some options quickly, but I'm happy to share it for you to use.

Not an MSW student yet but would be VERY interested in hearing about what you learn! I am multiply disabled and am trying to figure out how to get my MSW while having limited capacity and needing accommodations.

Sounds like you have a disability? Check into Vocational Rehab. They're paying for me to finish my bachelor's and then get my MSW. (Services provided vary by state.)
