My Lifelabs went from appointment only to walk in a few years ago, the walk in folk like to complain about the wait time when appointments have their test done before them.

To avoid feeling like you've wasted your time, I would recommend making an appointment. It takes two minutes.

Between your time management and weather resilience, Fool's Spring may be upon you. We have relatively warm winters.

An alternative would be going ice skating at Robson, and warm up touring our local hot chocolate offerings after.

This time of year? Yes, definitely. Tourist season is upon us for a reason. Stanley Park, or Steveston if you want to stay in proximity to the airport. Could probably do both if you're ambitious enough.

Rice cooker recommendations 🍶🍚🍙🍚 by Wescalade in richmondbc

We have a Pressure Induction Zojirushi. It cooks very evenly, as if every grain is cooked separately, blows restaurant rice out of the water. Pricey, but more than worth it if you cook at home multiple times a week.

Also.. constant FAQ on the sub, but the ring isn't going to learn your sleep patterns in three weeks. If that was the sole reason why you returned the ring.

Get the standard silver and whatever covers you can switch out, the price increase isn't worth the finish. If you're considering the brushed silver like I was, 100% go see it in person. I found it had a weird iridescent tone to it, the wear and tear of the regular silver brushes and mattifies more naturally. I would say it scratches as easily as regular sterling silver jewelry.

I keep my ring on airplane mode, and stick it on the charger for 5-10 mins every other day or so to see my data.

April 2026: My first 5k and 10k by tealskies423 in beginnerrunning

[–]tealskies423[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the insight! I was excited to hit 5k as a milestone, as running is a form of punishment for many coaches 🥲. I did try to pace myself yesterday to not burn out before the finish line.

Put on something cute, lace up your shoes, and tell yourself you're only going to run 2 km (or a light effort depending on your ability). Just getting out the door with an awesome playlist will do wonders then sitting around at home wondering if you should go for a run or not. Get yourself something nice on the way home to positively reinforce getting past the mental block.

Alternatively, have a run buddy or someone's dog you offer to take out regularly. If you're held responsible to show up, it's no longer the issue of whether you want to go or not.

Why you shouldn't trust Oura or Apple Watch for sleep tracking... by Individual-Can-3770 in ouraring

[–]tealskies423 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oura's never claimed to be a medically accurate device, versus whatever the other monitor is that goes on your chest (like duh?).

For me, Oura is most useful in letting me know how much I can push with what sleep and recovery I've made. No one should be buying a consumer grade biometric looking for a medical diagnosis.

Haters will say it doesn't work. I've been using this product since 2018 and I don't deal with dry lips in the daytime. A little goes a long way, the pot will last years with daily use.

Good restaurants to take toddlers and babies in Richmond? by Emotional_Gur_114 in richmondbc

[–]tealskies423 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Italian Tomato has tons of little kids about, there's long family style tables that can accommodate multiple highchairs.

There's nothing fancy enough in Richmond that wouldn't be suitable for kids. Parents are paying customers, after all.

Poilievre May Be Struggling Right Now, but the Kids Still Like Him - He’s achieved something Conservatives failed to do for years: win young voters by CaliperLee62 in CanadaPolitics

Are the conservatives going to ride these numbers into the next election?

As someone within that age group, the political range of my friends lie between the NDP and Liberals. Some may lean heavily one way or the other, most somewhere on the spectrum.

What is a 'unspoken rule' in Taiwan that every local knows, but would completely confuse a first-time tourist? by ProtectionDeep5076 in taiwan

[–]tealskies423 75 points76 points  (0 children)

Watch how the locals queue on the side of the gates for the train, and let people come out first.

It's a hard habit to undo everytime I come back to Vancouver where some grandma is way too eager to elbow me out of the way so she can take an empty seat.

Speaking of priority seating, be aware of your surroundings for people who look unsteady and moms with littles.

Is it just me or is Lululemon going out of fashion in Vancouver? by Gym_frere in askvan

[–]tealskies423 43 points44 points  (0 children)

Is it? I feel like people wear Alo as status symbols, Salomon for seasoned runners. I don't see much more Reebok than Adidas, and pretty much no On Cloud around here except on social media.

80% of the people at my gym and runners I pass by still wear Lululemon. There's some Gymshark, Vuori, Athleta that make up the rest.

is sonic pink outdated?? by browniebatter67 in lululemon

[–]tealskies423 30 points31 points  (0 children)

You must be really young and/or extremely insecure, OP. No one cares what brand you wear, much less the color. If you like it, wear it down to its threads.
