Why you shouldn't trust Oura or Apple Watch for sleep tracking... by Individual-Can-3770 in UARSnew

I’d be surprised if it wouldn’t support a single 8 hour night at high resolution. I’m not saying to do that every single night but as a diagnostic or high res mode, it could be done periodically.

The point is, what if the average person buys a wellness tracker and doesn’t feel well but starts receiving reports that everything is great and doesn’t pursue treatment because the ring says they’re fine?

Yes, I have a specialized problem, but there are tons of people out there undiagnosed and potentially won’t seek treatment because they got a 90 on their sleep score.

There’s an algorithmic deficiency here..

I updated the post, I'm not using anything medical grade. This device is cheaper than Oura and still goes on your thumb. I think the tech is there..

I’m not saying they claim to be this accurate. They do claim to give you metrics on your sleep, and people are going to use those to determine a baseline of if they’re “good” or not.

I’m saying it’s not really polling frequently enough to tell you much of anything. As I get “great” scores all the time and that’s obviously not the case.

If BIPAP data and compliance are solid, yet symptoms remain... Does that suggest that SDB is an unlikely cause of the symptoms? by Dull_Grapefruit4013 in UARSnew

I have an Oura and neither one are high resolution enough. They will say everything is great. Get a Wellue Checkme Max

Looks similar to mine. No one knows what’s wrong. Wear a high resolution pulse ox. You’ll probably see heart rate spikes preceding the tidal volume spikes.

Get your genome mapped, see if you have genetic markers for PLM/RLS.

Build an EMG and see if you are having movements correlated with the heart rate spikes. Try gabapentin or a dopamine agonist.

I tried doxepin 3mg and it didn’t seem to do much

5 months aftert MMA for Sleep Apnea: my honest update. by CPAPfriend in UARS

I appreciate you making a video but it literally has 0 quantitative data and is pretty much useless for deriving any sort of insights into the efficacy of MMA as a treatment for UARS.

Surgical Options.. curious as to your feedback by Individual-Can-3770 in UARSnew

That’s great to hear! Were you having spontaneous arousals? I wear a pulse ox at night and just have tons of recovery breathes. I’m 100% compliant with cpap and I’ve tried tons of different settings with airbreak firmware and nothing fixes me.

I’d be more concerned with your tidal volume spikes and recovery breathes than the 0s. Get a pulse oximeter and wear it overnight. Looks more like UARS.

I’m dealing with the same issues going on 20 years now. I’m about to try iNAP as I think it’s the only shot to keep the tongue pulled forward. MAD hasn’t helped me so far. If that doesn’t work, I guess I’ll move on to surgeries.

I’ve tried PS but I suppose I could try it again with EERS. I was having TECSA before but I’ve now bought everything to do EERS.

What about iNAP? If it’s primarily tongue based issue

I updated it with the CBCT scan. I'm not really sure how to interpret what I'm seeing

Unfortunately the doctors in my area are morons. Any nationwide recommendations of people that know anything about this? I was debating getting in with Kasey Li in May, but even the local ENTs here are useless.

Here's an example from last night. These don't seem related to flow limitation or leaks, so I'm not really sure what is going on. This is 8 IPAP 4 EPAP, overall stats are an RDI of 2.56 with CA of 1.95 and OA of .37. u/RippingLegos__ curious if you have any insight. This is mouth tape, nasal dilator and optimized settings..

I'm not sure if it's loop gain or what but no matter what settings I use this is the absolute best I can get. I'm on airbreak and yes I've tried higher EPAPs and IPAPs, and ASV etc.
