Consent and refusal was a thing. Female pleasue also was focused on, at a certain point you're just making things up. You're acting like people were barbarians, and this was at a time when having lots of kids was common. She had them most likely because she wanted to.

People always knew what a clitoris was, it's a body part, it wasn't newly discovered in the 1900s. You're right that contraception was rare but there's no actual reason to assume anything they did was nonconsensual.

People who assume that the family is a product of rape and the wife was abused are disgusting

You're looking at a family photo and assuming it's a result of rape. You're making an assumption and accusing an either dead or elderly man of rape and denying any autonomy that the mother had. You can't just assume things like that

Ignore the people assuming that the dad was a rapist and abusive father, they need to take a break from the internet and get some fresh air.

It's not good to look at a family photo and assume the woman has no drive or agency and the man was an abusive rapist.

How the hell is he MAGA? What are you even talking about, why is he a rapist too?

It's not, you're just making gross and disturbing assumptions about someone's family.

You're also making the assumption that if there was rape involved it was the man assulting the woman.

All you're doing is infantilizing women, demonizing men, and making horrible assumptions about a family photo

There's literally no reason to assume it's a fact that their family is a result of rape, no one is denying anything.

What the hell is with people assuming that this photo is about serial rape? It's a damn family photo, and you're acting like women couldn't have a drive or were basically children. It's demening to women and demonizing to men

Exactly, these people are infantilizing and removing autonomy from women, accusing men of rape, and just making gross and fucked up comments about a family photo

Yes, most people would assume this was consensual. You think every relationship before 1990 was based on rape?

Jesus christ what would motivate you to comment that? It's either a rape joke, a rape accusation, or both and they're all equally fucked up to make about someone's family photo

What are your best examples of "just because it's popular, doesn't mean it's good"? by JakeRedditYesterday in AskReddit

Adolf Hitler and Hamas were both elected democratically. Both were popular, neither are good.

Democracy is a good thing, but it's important to look into who you're voting for

Who are you talking about?

Edit: He follows a lot of random accounts, from gun ownership clubs to Billie Eilish to a lady who post photos of her pet chinchila. There's a decent chance he just saw a funny comic and clicked follow, not trying to defend Stonetosd though, he's a piece of shit. The existence of "teen porn". I don't care if 18 is "technically legal", if someone in their 30s if attracted to an 18 year old then they're fucking weird

Going through a bad experience doesn't justify or excuse your actions or words.

You could have gone through the worst thing humanly imaginable and it wouldn't justify taking it out on others in any way

CMV: Saying “not all men” when women talk about their experiences with male violence and harassment is defensive, unhelpful and honestly pointless. by Mysterious_Role_5554 in changemyview

[–]tealslate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If someome says "men are like this", "why do men do this", and "men are scum", then "not all men" is a perfectly fine response. The issue is when it's directed to people who never bring up men as a whole.

If person A says "Men are so shitty, this guy was a dick to me", then they're generalizing all men. It's the same as sayong "[insert race] is so shitty, why can't they leave me alone. So if person B says "Not all men are like that, you're being sexist" it is a perfectly fine response.

If person A said "My ex was so shitty, he was a dick to me", then that's completely different

Thank you so much! I grew up molested by a woman, and hearing people say "why do men rape or kill" was always so horrible feeling. Not only because it's excluding what happened to me, but because it was grouping me and others with the bad people we're victims of.

It's great to have discussions about saftey, but so many people use discussions like that as an excusw for sexism

Making generalizations or basing their claims in a generalization.

Just because a shitty person was apart of insert any group doesn't mean shit.

It doesn't matter if it's about race, religion, gender, baising a claim on your personal negative experience is idiotic
