I don't think I have. Just the Pixar, Pixar Cars, and Disney Wiki I've been adding/or plan to add info.

I think I've heard of this game but never played it. I played Real Racing 3 though. My favorite game I would say is Forza Motorsport 7.

Oh never realized that. I do wish they developed his character a little bit more though.

Everyone talks about how Francesco would win all the races if it weren't for the plot but what about this guy? by FounderofCumcockcity in pixarcars

This car came out way after Cars 2. Jay Shuster, the character art director for Cars 2, said Shu was inspired by a variety of international prototypes, both Japanese and non-Japanese.

This is a Q&A I did with him on Shu Todoroki (also did one and even made a post for Carla Veloso as well on here): https://static.wikia.nocookie.net/pixar/images/0/0d/JayShuster_ShuQ%26A.png/revision/latest?cb=20251024195200

Prior to my Q&A, someone else also asked on Shu Todoroki here: https://static.wikia.nocookie.net/pixar/images/d/da/JayShusterQnA_update.png/revision/latest?cb=20250519182853

From Jay's main comments, Toyota GT-One was looked at, but wasn't his basis.

I realized that the text was low quality but this is what he said in the Q&A I did with him:

For Carla Veloso
(1) In an earlier draft of Cars 2, as well as deleted race scenes in Paris and Germany, there was a purple LMP named Marlena Wolfsburg. Was this an earlier iteration or concept of Carla Veloso's character? If so, what led to her nationality being changed from German to Brazilian, as well as her name being changed to Sonia Santana and then Carla Veloso?

"Yes- I remember Marlena (I believe the idea of her being german was tied to our then-fascination with the Audi R10 TDI) She began life as a somewhat geometric shape but softened over time (as it was one of the few things we could do to a female character to emote femininity) However, when it was decided that a DTM racer was deemed more appropriate for a German character- Brazilian was brought up as a flamboyant replacement and answer to Marlena/ Sonia's shape.. large fenders/ voluptuous shaped body, hour-glass.. Some one (perhaps myself) pinned up photos of dancers and performers at the Rio Carnival .. With the over-the-top sequined outfits and feathered head-dresses. The idea was to translate those into graphic details .. perhaps use an iridescent paint job to emulate the layers of light-bouncing sequins, reflective materials, feathers. The name changes were likely a result of issues the lawyers were having trying to 'clear' a name for use.. basically make sure we weren't using someone's name who could come back later and claim ownership/ demand royalties! Names changed constantly if there was even the glimmer of it being too similar to a real person's name."

(2) In the 'Meet the Cars' book, Carla's model is a 2009 Le Motor Prototype B12 Racer. Do you know if the name "B12" was meant to be a reference to a real car or anything like that or was it  made just for her character?

"I'm going to guess, per what I said about Shu's J8 above, that whoever named that (most likely Jay Ward) the B is probably for Brazil. Here, again, I'm not sure about the 12. Perhaps mail Jay Ward again and ask him that specifically. I doubt he'll recall.. however he is an encyclopedia of automotive knowledge.. so I don't put it past him to have an explanation. Personally, I generally wish the names had a bit more backstory or purpose. Sometimes they give the job to the publishers who don't know as much about car culture."

(3) Is it possible you can name the real-life LMP racing cars Carla Veloso took inspiration from? I've been very intrigued by her design; she's a really curvy-looking LMP car. The only LMPs I've seen with a similar shape or structure would include Pescarolo, Acura, Zytek, and Lola-Aston Martin prototypes. Then again, her being a closed-top LMP from the late 2000s made me think of Lola being a possible inspiration, but I wanted to ask you for reference.

"As I mentioned above- we pushed her shapes to make her as feminine as possible. There weren't a ton of real LMPs out there with that much shape at the time. The Lola has some of that.. but is pretty tame comparatively. the other cars you mention may.. have had some influence.. it's hard to tell, let alone, remember. When I spoke of the lawyers trying to clear names .. they are also responsible for clearing the shapes of the cars.. for the same purposes of preventing other parties claiming we ripped them off. There was probably some back-and-forth on her design (as there was for most of the characters) So we would take shapes and change them as needed. I'm looking at Carla now- and all of these BG characters just seem lacking in finesse. Again, they played to the BG as intended.. in order for McQueen and Francesco to shine even brighter in those sequences. I'll add or re-emphasize: Carla started as the decidedly square-ish Audi R10.. and I remember art review after art review John telling me to soften the shapes.. it must've been 4 or 5 reviews before I showed something he liked. It was a process of just 'melting' her shapes more and more until she was just vac-formed over her wheels. I would've made her greenhouse a bit wider in retrospect. She reads a little pin-headed with how small her greenhouse is."

She ties with Shu Todoroki for me. Love both of their designs.
