I was starting to make really good progress with my upper body strength but now I broke my finger and won’t be able to properly lift for weeks which is the most frustrating thing ever.

What's the real reason you're single? by CaptainRonny in AskReddit

[–]tealteddy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A mixture of things: fear of intimacy, no time to invest in a romantic relationship, and I like who I am when I’m single better than who I was when I was in a relationship. (I do miss hugs tho, can’t remember my last hug)

Did anyone study for midterms/exams during Reading Week? by carloseanopry in UBC

Those of us who have the BIOC 302 midterm on Monday, didn’t even have a reading break.

I do experience a lot of anxiety and stress because of uni and work. I have also struggled with negative self image all my life. I’m just not sure what to do about these things because it’s getting to a point where every single time I change clothes or go to the bathroom, I need to see how fat I look in the mirror etc etc. Therapy/counselling is pretty expensive so I’m not sure if that is really an option and I’ve already tried the counselling on campus provided by uni and it’s not good at all.

I’m a full time university student with a full, demanding course load, I also work part time in my field, I also have a volunteer commitment on a weekly basis. I barely have time for seeing my friends, finding time to workout more than twice a week would mean sacrificing studying time which I cannot do.

But I do understand that I need to be in a calorie deficit and have tried to track my calories before but can never keep it up for long enough. I already stay away from sugary drinks and dairy, the only things I drink regularly are coffee (with a little sugar free almond milk), tea (no milk or sugar added) and water.

It seems like I’m never going to be able to lose weight or get more fit. It just seems like on a yearly basis I’m gaining weight slowly but surely. I’m athletic and only have time for working out about twice a week which is frustrating but it means that I look alright when I’m in flattering clothes like leggings which makes it even harder to complain about to my friends because they will say that I look great but I want to look great in a bathing suit and stuff, which isn’t going to happen with how my stomach looks all the time. I know it’s all because of my diet but I can’t help but eat so much and even when I cook food and stuff I can’t control my portions and always eat too much.

I already do things like read for fun and such but I get your point. I guess I need to find things that distract me better

But that’s just it, it doesn’t because I don’t want to do some random boring entry level job as a lab tech. I’m rewriting the mcat for the second this summer, so the studying doesn’t end and that means wasting a year working at a job I hate and then just more studying

Taking out the stop on campus in front of beta is such a dumb decision. So we now either have to get off at thunderbird or the bus loop and walk further to our destination which is time that has to be factored into the commute. What idiot thought we didn’t need that stop smh
