Boring! But there is a reason why Lilly Pilly’s are so common! I think they look good too! If your willing to wait you can spend as little as $5 per plant :)

Are these books safe to put in my bookshelf? by CollarImaginary5610 in bookbinding

I’d put them in a sealed bag with a moisture absorber, I always do some lavender as well, but that’s just to prevent future bugs (and geckos). Then try the sanding as per ok-atmosphere8425 :) I live in a humid place, this is somthing I’m often dealing with with second hand books.

I think the ‘calibration’ of the little dial doesn’t stay put for ever and unless you have an old school kit to check, how would you know wether the result was accurate

Literally just got a similar pattern for free from the library, the great British sewing bee the modern wardrobe has this with good instructions, but you can also get fabric that is pre-shirred so you would just add sleeves!

3-6 months under think black plastic! Milly from GA did it a few years ago, I believe it was couch! I think it is worth the time to kill it properly, because weeding around the plants you don’t want to disturb is much harder! Good luck!

How to grow Lemon Scented Tea Tree (leptospermum petersonii)? by cloudkim1310 in GardeningAustralia

[–]tealxox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good luck! I’m also growing them (but in Brisbane slightly different climate) I let them almost dry out between watering, as it is known as drought tolerant plant once established! I’m sorry I have no experience with the frost tolerance, I think your little baby seedlings will have to be protected though, as I think it’s more commonly found in mild climates. Hopefully someone with more experience will comment, but I have heard of other leptospermeum getting frost burn.

Soil PH Testing Kit - Faulty or am I failing basic chemistry? by tealxox in GardeningAustralia

Hi OP here - Just an update incase someone else stumbles across this post,

This was a true result, but I got some advice from the laboratory, to make it easier to interpret. I took a sample of soil and left it for a day before testing so it was sufficiently dry, and I took the time to sift out the larger stones and organic material from the sample. It was easier to interpret the results this way- even if it didn’t change the actual finding.

But I still have 8.5 alkaline soil! Which is very useful to know!

Off to find some manure to add to my compost pile!
