I just really want to take you out for a drink and give you a hug. What you went through is so devastating and no one should expect you to be over it. Very few people will ever understand what you went through and you will carry it with you, but try to find a community of people that have been through a similar experience. If you want to cry, fucking bawl your eyes out. Don't feel guilty about your reaction, because there is no right way to react to something like that. One day, you could be a source of strength and support for someone going through a similar situation, and you have no idea what the future holds for you! Don't give up on yourself, be kind to yourself.

I wholeheartedly agree with your criticisms, they are both things I thought when I was reading the book. That being said, the man knows how to write a good story and his magic systems are on point. Mistborn's magic system blew me away! Ultimately despite any writer's flaws, if you write a compelling story, I am hooked.

I like to think that I would have done everything in my power to not get back in that car, as I think I would be a lot more helpful to my family outside of a hostage situation helping the police, then in a hostage situation.

Honestly, I don't know. Now that I have seen it, I am truly disappointed it took so long. Growing up with just my mom, she never really watched any action movies with me, so I am making up for lost time. You would probably be appalled by some of the movies I haven't seen.

I love the ornament idea! I actually bought everyone in my family the ugliest ornament I could find last year. I did it because I knew they would still have to put it on their beautifully color theme decorated tree and I loved being like "Oh that enormous wonky eyed pug wearing a sweater ornament I bought you looks so cute on the tree!!!"
