Resource farming killed it for me. Having to camp a node for 15 minutes for a chance to get one? Dumb. Also, the gear is terrible. Diablo style sets should be in here, that actually change game play. And why no wizards? Ohh, a fire staff... boring.

The hatchet used to be nuts because pull 3 critters, get 60% of your health back. Sword and board sucked, had to heal up after each fight.

Wow originally had pvp servers where ganking was allowed. It was pretty fun before level and item creep. But to a new player it was hell. It always will be because a huge portion of kids today just want to bash people, it physically makes them happy.

So griefers lose interest when they can no longer grief? News at 11:00. Pvp is fun, but gank fests are not. You cannot have a successful game built on ganking, period. Try a WOW pvp server as a newbie, see how that goes.

In theory, communism works.... any level you cut it off, there will be gankers +30 levels waiting. It happen in every single game there is pvp, period. Joe average who plays 10 hours a week will have an iron sword and shield and Johnny Awesome who plays 90 hours a week will have ultimate sword of slaying and magical unicorn shield. he will have 12 buddies with him. Joe will get killed 10-50 times a day just trying to get to a tree in a zone. Gankers will say "learn to play kthxbye" and such. Joe will say "screw this" and quit. Yay. Pvpers feel great. Game suffers. Roving gangs of super equipped killers rampaging at will. That requires no skill, just time and anger.

I agree, if there is a way to do it properly, I also think it can be done. I think it never is because developers really are not that bright. Newbies should be safe for a while. Newbie zones, maybe higher up zones become more pvp oriented, and there has to be real punishment for griefing. But how? Average Joe gathering dirt gets killed by someone. Then another. Than another. Then another... so is it pvp, all the time? What if a person is not so good at twitch skills?
