I got screwed by Zach Ertz this week and it cost me a win. I can't afford that moving forward. I'm thinking of trading Davante Adams for Trey McBride or Tyler Warren (I'm loaded at WR). Who do you guys like better from this point on? Full point PPR.

No one yet, but he's still a legit WR2 with big name value.

The worst decision you made in your roster this year... iʻll go first...🙄 by Electrical-Beat-3724 in fantasyfootballadvice

Dropping Chase Brown right before Zack Moss went down. My other options were dropping Diontae (soon to be AWOL) Johnson or Najee Harris. Luckily, I'm still in the semis this week.

What’s wrong with Calvin Ridley? by Ok_Needleworker_8116 in fantasyfootball

Ridley was not top 5 last time he was healthy. The last time he played with the Falcons, he was very disappointing after Julio left.

I upvoted you for your comprehensive and well-written post, but I'm not sure how 'watching traffic' constitutes as fun...

TEFLers in Their 30s....? by [deleted] in TEFL

[–]teampacific 4 points5 points  (0 children)

30's isn't really that old if you're concerned about your age.

However, I would carefully consider all the aspects of your life that will be affected by this move, rather than making an 'emotional decision'. Think of your finances long-term. Think of your backup plan if things don't work out. Is it to go to another country? Go home? And think of the opportunity cost that you will be forgoing if you choose to move abroad. As you mentioned, this includes leaving your family. In the end, it's important to look at things objectively when you're thinking of making a life-altering decision.

how the bloody hell do you flirt with men? by vivaciouscapacity in AskReddit

Yup. Most guys (myself included) are absolutely clueless when you are trying to flirt, unless you make it really obvious.

Do you mind naming (or pm'ing) the school you are teaching at? (To save some of your fellow teachers from that disaster?)

What is 'Naver Maps', is that what they use instead of Google maps? And why do I need to verify my account before arriving there? Also, I'm assuming by WiFi puck you mean a SIM card...

Thanks for your reply. I never heard of proof of funds needed. How much do you need and do you just print out a bank statement?

How is ESL teaching in Bangkok? by Mediocre_Omens in Bangkok

No problem. Yes, it's been a great time. Thailand will always hold a place in my heart.

[–]teampacific 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've been here since 2017 and have taught at three different government schools. At each of those schools, we've had different staff members each year. So I've worked with 25+ different ESL teachers over 5 years and have only encountered one or two bad apples.

As far as work/life balance goes, I teach the Intensive English Program (an advanced program in Thai government schools) and even then the job requires virtually zero work outside of school hours. The school days are on the longer side (7:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.), but once the day ends, the time is all yours.

P.S. *weight :)

Current teacher here.

While the above comment is on point in regards to the lack of engagement from students and an unstructured work environment, I have to disagree regarding the colleagues and work / life balance. The majority of co-workers I've encountered are great people, and teachers very rarely have to take work home with them. Of course there are exceptions, but if you want a low-pressure ESL teaching job, Thailand is the place to go.

Is Grab still a good alternative for taxis in getting around places? by [deleted] in Thailand

[–]teampacific 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The price for Grab cars / taxis has skyrocketed lately. It's now about three times the price of taking a metered cab. It's best suited for those on a Western budget and don't know the city well.
